Nd:YAG Laser Posterior Capsulotomy

Optometry and Vision Science, 1985
As a postoperative complication to cataract surgery [extracapsular extraction (ECCE), phacoemulsification (KPE)], the posterior capsule (PC) of the lens often becomes opacified with plaque, Elschnig's pearls, or fibrotic bands, resulting in decreased visual acuity (VA).

Laser Cleaning with a Nd:YAG Laser

1997
In this paper the practical aspects of laser cleaning a small area of the exterior of Lincoln Cathedral will be presented. Surface analysis results and the optimum cleaning rates will be discussed with the objective of the preservation of the limestone patina.

Miniature Laser Diode Pumped Nd:YAG Lasers

1985
Progress in high power laser diodes operating near 0.81 micron allow the construction of efficient, low power Nd:YAG lasers. We describe an end pumped Nd:YAG oscillator with 25% slope efficiency and 2 mW threshold. The demonstrated frequency stability of the diode pumped monolithic Nd:YAG laser is less than 10 kHz in 0.1 sec.

Polycrystalline Nd:YAG ceramics lasers

Optical Materials, 2002
Nd-doped YAG (Y3Al5O12) ceramics that contained from 1.1 to 4.8 at.% Nd additives and exhibited nearly the same optical properties as those of a single crystal was fabricated by a solid-state reaction method using high-purity powders. The average grain size and relative density of Nd:YAG ceramics obtained were about 50 μm and 99.9999%, respectively ...

Coherent Nd:Yag Laser Communications

SPIE Proceedings, 1987
The majority of today's optical communication systems employ non-coherent detection or what is commonly referred to as direct detection. However, recent advances in technology have made the concept of coherent optical detection feasible. A properly designed coherent system can offer a significant improvement in receiver sensitivity.

High‐power Nd:YAG lasers

Advanced Materials, 1992
The output power, efficiency, and beam quality of high‐powerd Nd: YAG lasers can be improved by employing a device configuration which improves pumping efficiency. By locating the pumping source within the cavity of a tube laser, the pumping radiation is forced to pass through the crystal more effectively thus increasing efficiency.
