Normalized Dryness Built-up Index (NDBI) to Detect Settlement Change In Buleleng Sub-District

open access: yesMedia Komunikasi FPIPS, 2021
This research aims to find out the development of settlements that occur over the next 20 years. Monitoring the development of settlements is carried out by remote sensing methods using Landsat 7 ETM+ imagery and Landsat 8 OLI imagery. Landsat 7 ETM+ used in 2000, and Landsat 8 OLI used in 2019.

Developing an Extraction Method of Urban Built-Up Area Based on Remote Sensing Imagery Transformation Index

open access: yesForum Geografi, 2018
Studying urban areas using remote sensing imagery has become a challenge, both visually and digitally. Supervised classification, one of the digital classification approaches to differentiate between built-up and non-built-up area, used to be leading in ...

IMPROVING GLOBALlAND30 ARTIFICIAL TYPE EXTRACTION ACCURACY IN LOW-DENSITY RESIDENTS [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2016
GlobalLand 30 is the first 30m resolution land cover product in the world. It covers the area within 80°N and 80°S. There are ten classes including artificial cover, water bodies, woodland, lawn, bare land, cultivated land, wetland, sea area, shrub and ...

Trade‐Offs of Conservation Fencing in Western Serengeti: Enhancing Agricultural Security While Navigating Unintended Consequences on Land‐Use Dynamics

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
Fencing enhanced security in cropland livestock grazing land. Fence did not have a significant change in crop zonation patterns. While local communities are largely happy with the fence, fencing triggered land‐use conflicts and the resettlement of a few livestock keepers with large herds of livestock to nearby unfenced sites.

An Explainable and Optimized Machine Learning Framework for Multisensor Remote Sensing‐Based Land Use and Land Cover Classification

open access: yesTransactions in GIS, Volume 30, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Land use and land cover (LULC) mapping supports environmental monitoring and spatial planning, but classification performance often suffers in feature spaces that combine multiple data sources with redundant predictors. This study compares five feature selection methods (mRMR, ReliefF, Boruta, RFE, HSIC‐Lasso) with three tree‐based classifiers

Examination of the Relationship Between Surface Temperature and Spectral Land Cover Indices for Different Köppen Climate Classes [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
Land Surface Temperature (LST) serves as a critical parameter for evaluating urban climate dynamics and surface energy exchanges. This study examines the relationships between LST and four spectral land cover indices—Normalized Difference ...

Characterizing urban growth and land surface temperature in the western himalayan cities of India using remote sensing and spatial metrics

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science, 2023
Urban heat islands (UHI) are developing due to increasing urbanization and loss of vegetation in major cities in India. Increased urbanization modifies the urban microclimate that leads to significant land-use changes resulting in surface conversion and ...

Effectiveness of an online‐delivered parent‐mediated intervention for the improvement of social skills of children with autism

open access: yesJournal of Research in Special Educational Needs, Volume 26, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) show social communication difficulties, a common symptom alongside behavioural issues. These difficulties may affect both their social and academic inclusion when they do not receive proper support.
