Magnetocaloric effect in NdSi compound: a Monte Carlo simulation

Journal of Computational Electronics, 2016
Magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effects of the compound NdSi are studied by means of Monte Carlo simulations. NdSi can be considered as a competitive candidate of magnetic refrigeration. The thermal magnetization, dM/dT, magnetic entropy, and the specific heat of NdSi are given for different values of magnetic field and exchange interactions ...

Ground-based evaluation of MODIS snow cover product V6 across China: Implications for the selection of NDSI threshold

Science of the Total Environment, 2019
The new MODIS daily NDSI snow cover product version 6 (V6) is released to replace V5 with significant revisions. This study evaluates, for the first time, the accuracy of product V6 across China based on daily snow-depth measurements during 2003-2013 from 279 and 252 stations for Terra and Aqua, respectively.

Assessment of relationship between snow cover characteristics (SGI and SCI) and snow cover indices (NDSI and S3)

Earth Science Informatics, 2015
Snow cover characteristics play a vital role in hydrological and climatological analyses. Snow characteristics have been retrieved using different techniques but no study has been conducted hitherto to determine its relationship with snow cover indices. In the present study the relationship of snow cover characteristics i.e., snow grain size index (SGI)

NDSI products system based on Hadoop platform

SPIE Proceedings, 2015
Snow is solid state of water resources on earth, and plays an important role in human life. Satellite remote sensing is significant in snow extraction with the advantages of cyclical, macro, comprehensiveness, objectivity, timeliness. With the continuous development of remote sensing technology, remote sensing data access to the trend of multiple ...

Assessing snow extent variations of Illimani mountain with Landsat NDSI

2017 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2017
Snow in the mountains is important because it keeps freshwater resources and supplies water for agriculture and human consumption. One of the most well-known mountains in Bolivia is the Illimani. In this paper the results of a multitemporal analysis of the snow cover at the Illimani are shown.

Magnetic structures of PrSi and NdSi intermetallic alloys

Solid State Communications, 1977
Abstract The magnetic structure of the PrSi and NdSi intermetallic compounds is reported. It corresponds to a non-collinear ferromagnetic order resulting from the crystal field anisotropy. The magnetic moments lie in the (a−c) miroir plane and their value is 2.8 ± 0.3μ B /atom and 2.6 ± 0.3μ B /atom respectively for PrSi and NdSi.

Formation of NdSi2Phase by High-Current Nd-Ion Implantation

Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 2002
Continuous NdSi2 phase layers could be obtained by high-current Nd-ion implantation into Si using a metal vapor vacuum arc ion source and the formation temperature could be relatively low in the range from 165 to 320°C. Furthermore, the surface morphology of the Nd-ion implanted surface varied with the implantation parameters.
