Sensitivity of climate to changes in NDVI [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Climate, 2000
The sensitivity of global and regional climate to changes in vegetation density is investigated using a coupled biosphere-atmosphere model. The magnitude of the vegetation changes and their spatial distribution are based on natural decadal variability of the normalized difference vegetation index (ndvi).

Inherent Reflectance Variability of Vegetation

open access: yesAgriculture, 2019
With the inception of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS), remotely sensed images have been captured much closer to the ground, which has meant better resolution and smaller ground sample distances (GSDs).

NDVI relationship to monthly evaporation [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 1998
Normalized difference vegetation indices (NDVI), calculated from Landsat‐MSS images, were correlated with monthly total precipitation and estimates of monthly evaporation in a prairie environment. The highest value of the correlation coefficient (r=.80) was obtained between the monthly mean NDVI and estimated evaporation of the preceding month.

Phenological response of vegetation to upstream river flow in the Heihe Rive basin by time series analysis of MODIS data

open access: yes, 2011
Liquid and solid precipitation is abundant in the high elevation, upper reach of the Heihe River basin in northwestern China. The development of modern irrigation schemes in the middle reach of the basin is taking up an increasing share of fresh water ...

Relationship between densification and NDVI loss. A study using the Google Earth Engine at local scale

open access: yesEnvironmental & Socio-economic Studies, 2022
Latin American cities are amongst those with the highest rates of urbanization in the world. This process has involved their territorial expansion as well as the densification of some of its neighborhoods, in mainly central areas. This is the case of the

Genetically modified Cotton species detection by LISS-III satellite data

open access: yes, 2008
It is possible to infer the genetically modified species by using remotely sensed data. Using ERDAS software the algorithm of BT (Bacillus thuringiensis) Cotton in Punjab, India was developed successfully.
