Investigating the Puzzling Synchrotron Behaviour of Mrk 421

open access: yesGalaxies, 2016
We investigate the multiwavelength behaviour of the high-energy peaked BL Lac object (HBL) Mrk 421 at redshift z = 0 . 031 in the period 2007–2015.

WORKING GROUP: NEAR-EARTH OBJECTS [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Astronomical Union, 2011
Following its meeting in May, 2010, the IAU Executive Committee requested that a Working Group on NEOs within Div. III be re-activated and carry out the following activities: a) investigate and formulate requirements for an international ground- and/or space-based NEO survey, to detect, track and characterize (optical/IR, radar) 90% of all NEOs ...

Subpar reporting of pre‐analytical variables in RNA‐focused blood plasma studies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical variables strongly influence the analysis of extracellular RNA (cell‐free RNA; exRNA) derived from blood plasma. Their reporting is essential to allow interpretation and replication of results. By evaluating 200 exRNA studies, we pinpoint a lack of reporting pre‐analytical variables associated with blood collection, plasma preparation ...

Asteroid Impact Hazard Warning from the Near-Earth Object Surveyor Mission

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal
NASA’s Near-Earth Object Surveyor mission, scheduled for launch in 2027 September, is designed to detect and characterize at least two-thirds of the potentially hazardous asteroids with diameters larger than 140 m in a nominal 5 yr mission. We describe a

Surfaceome: a new era in the discovery of immune evasion mechanisms of circulating tumor cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the era of immunotherapies, many patients either do not respond or eventually develop resistance. We propose to pave the way for proteomic analysis of surface‐expressed proteins called surfaceome, of circulating tumor cells. This approach seeks to identify immune evasion mechanisms and discover potential therapeutic targets. Circulating tumor cells (

Combined spatially resolved metabolomics and spatial transcriptomics reveal the mechanism of RACK1‐mediated fatty acid synthesis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The authors analyzed the spatial distributions of gene and metabolite profiles in cervical cancer through spatial transcriptomic and spatially resolved metabolomic techniques. Pivotal genes and metabolites within these cases were then identified and validated.

Integrative systems‐level analysis reveals a contextual crosstalk between hypoxia and global metabolism in human breast tumors

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast tumor samples scored for metabolic deregulation (M1 to M3) were given a hypoxia score (HS). The highest HS occurred in patients with strongest metabolic deregulation (M3), supporting tumor aggressiveness. HS correlated with the highest number of metabolic pathways in M1. This suggests hypoxia to be an early event in metabolic deregulation.

On the Lunar Origin of Near-Earth Asteroid 2024 PT5

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
The near-Earth asteroid (NEA) 2024 PT5 is on an Earth-like orbit that remained in Earth's immediate vicinity for several months at the end of 2024. PT5's orbit is challenging to populate with asteroids originating from the main belt and is more commonly ...

OPTIMIZATION OF ENERGY COSTS AT COMBINED WITHDRAWAL OF OBJECTS SPACE DEBRIS FROM LOW EARTH ORBITS

open access: yesАвіаційно-космічна техніка та технологія, 2018
The given article is devoted one of most acute problems of use of a space – clearing of low earth orbits from space debris. As one of ways of its solution is offered withdrawal of large objects of space debris in dense layers of atmosphere of the Earth ...

Addressing persistent challenges in digital image analysis of cancer tissue: resources developed from a hackathon

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Large multidimensional digital images of cancer tissue are becoming prolific, but many challenges exist to automatically extract relevant information from them using computational tools. We describe publicly available resources that have been developed jointly by expert and non‐expert computational biologists working together during a virtual hackathon
