Optimization of the Production of Rubber Compounds Using Mathematical Models
Rubber compounds were mixed in a batch internal mixer, and symbolic regression was used to derive mathematical models linking recipe and process parameters to ram path, torque, and mixing quality (incorporation, dispersion, distribution). Subsequent optimization with evolutionary algorithms identified operating conditions that reduce specific energy ...

Seismic Response of a Large-Span Steel Truss Arch Bridge under Nonuniform Near-Fault Ground Motions
The ground motion in the near-fault region of an earthquake is characterized by exceptional energy levels, powerful velocity impulses, substantial spatial variability, and notable permanent displacement.

This plot compares experimental tensile stress–strain curves (with 4 different strain rates) and corresponding modelled curves (obtained using the optimised sets of Voce and Miller–Norton parameter values shown). The inferred M‐N values, characterizing the creep, are very similar to those obtained via conventional creep testing.

The Influence of near-Fault Ground Motions on the Seismic Response of Reinforced Concrete Frame
This paper examined the engineering characteristics of the near-fault ground motion. The four-story reinforced concrete frame was designed under Code for seismic design of building (GB50011-2010).The SAP2000 software was applied to model it, and the ...

Response of isolated RC buildings under bi-directional near-fault ground motions
Nonlinear response history analyses of an isolated 3-story RC building were carried out under bi-directional earthquake excitations considered as near-fault records. Two sets of eleven near-fault ground motion records were used.

An Experimental High‐Throughput Approach for the Screening of Hard Magnet Materials
An entire workflow for the high‐throughput characterization and analysis of compositionally graded magnetic films is presented. Characterization protocols, data management tools and data analysis approaches are illustrated with test case Sm(Fe, V)12 based films.

This study shows that superalloys used in aircraft engine disks become much more prone to deformation at high temperatures if they have been strained during manufacturing. This effect increases with the level of prior strain but eventually reaches a limit.

Precipitation Simulations of the O‐Phase in Ti2AlNb Alloys Processed by Laser Powder Bed Fusion
Simulated and experimental evolution of the O‐phase volume fraction during postprocessing of a Ti‐21Al‐25Nb (at.%) alloy processed by laser powder bed fusion. With results of sensitivity to input parameters from a thorough and quantified analysis, the interfacial energy matrix/precipitate is the most relevant input parameter for the simulation of the O‐
