Near infrared spectroscopy

European Journal of Pediatrics, 1995
Near infrared spectroscopy is a novel technique still at an early stage in its development. Current technology has been used to measure cerebral haemodynamics and oxygenation at the cotside in sick preterm infants, to observe cerebral oxygenation during birth, and in other situations such as cardiac surgery. At present it is best regarded as a research

Policryps Characterization in the Near Infrared

Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 2003
We have analysed the electro-optical behaviour at 1550 nm of a new polymer and liquid crystal composite, realized in form of a thick grating. This composite is known as Policryps, acronym that stands for "Polymer Liquid Crystals Polymer Slides", because it shows a sequence of polymeric sheets alternated by layers containing only liquid crystal.

Near-Infrared Spectroscopy

Clinics in Perinatology, 1991
Near-infrared spectroscopy is a new technique for noninvasive monitoring of tissue oxygenation and hemodynamics. Until now, it has been used solely for research into the physiopathology of the brain. This technique offers considerable untapped potential for research and clinical applications.

Understanding Near-Infrared Spectroscopy

Advances in Neonatal Care, 2011
Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) is a noninvasive technique that monitors regional tissue oxygenation reflecting perfusion status. Near-infrared spectroscopy has the ability to continuously and simultaneously monitor tissue perfusion in different organ systems at the bedside without interrupting routine care.

Near Infrared Photoimmunotherapy for Cancer

Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2019
Near infrared photoimmunotherapy (NIR-PIT) is a molecularly-targeted cancer photo-therapy based on antibody-photoabsorber (IR700) conjugates. By crashing cancer cells combined with innate and/or adjuvant immune-activation, NIR-PIT activates anti-cancer immunity resulted in curing local and metastatic cancers.

Near infrared waveplate

SPIE Proceedings, 2004
The waveplate made of Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) plastic film has several advantages compared with that of birefringent crystal in visible region, such as its lower cost and insensitivity to temperature and incidence angle. What are the performances when they are used in the near infrared spectral region?

A near infrared photopolarimeter

Infrared Physics, 1976
Abstract A Photopolarimeter suitable for astronomical work in the 5–20 μm region is described. The “visibility” of the instrument at the focus of a telescope is evaluated and preliminary results are given, relative to observations carried out at the Coude focus of the 193 cm telescope of the Observatoire de Haute Provence.

Near Infrared Spectroscopy

Journal of Near Infrared Spectroscopy, 1998
Some of the concepts that make a near infrared spectrum understandable are reviewed. The origin of vibrational anharmonicity which determines the occurrence and the spectral properties (frequency, intensity) is discussed. The importance of the effects of the resonances which increase with increasing excitation are mentioned.
