Infrared Variability of Evolved Protoplanetary Disks: Evidence for Scale Height Variations in the Inner Disk

open access: yes, 2012
We present the results of a multi-wavelength multi-epoch survey of five evolved protoplanetary disks in the IC 348 cluster that show significant infrared variability.

Near-Infrared Spectroscopy of McNeil's Nebula Object

open access: yes, 2004
We present 0.8-5.2 micron spectroscopy of the compact source at the base of a variable nebula (McNeil's Nebula Object) in the Lynds 1630 dark cloud that went into outburst in late 2003.

Muscle oxygenation monitoring using near-infrared spectroscopy

open access: yesJournal of Physical Fitness and Sports Medicine, 2013
Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) has been a useful method for the detection of changes in in vivo muscle oxygenation and oxidative metabolism in healthy subjects as well as in patients with various diseases.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

WISE J163940.83-684738.6: A Y Dwarf identified by Methane Imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We have used methane imaging techniques to identify the near-infrared counterpart of the bright WISE source WISEJ163940.83-684738.6. The large proper motion of this source (around 3.0arcsec/yr) has moved it, since its original WISE identification, very ...

Interplay between RNA‐protein interactions and RNA structures in gene regulation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Methodological advances in mapping transcriptome‐wide RNA‐protein interactions and RNA structures have started to uncover the potential of RNP conformations in gene regulation. Competing RNA–RNA, RNA‐protein and protein–protein interactions shape the compaction and function of RNPs throughout their lifetime and may provide novel therapeutic targets in ...

Microfluidic Cuvette for Near-Infrared Spectroscopy

open access: yesProceedings
We intend to develop an in situ near-infrared spectroscopic solution for monitoring the nutrient composition (e.g., lactate concentration) in microfluidic channels of organ-on-chip devices.

Carnegie Supernova Project-II: Extending the Near-Infrared Hubble Diagram for Type Ia Supernovae to $z\sim0.1$

open access: yes, 2018
The Carnegie Supernova Project-II (CSP-II) was an NSF-funded, four-year program to obtain optical and near-infrared observations of a "Cosmology" sample of $\sim100$ Type Ia supernovae located in the smooth Hubble flow ($0.03 \lesssim z \lesssim 0.10 ...
