In response to this problem, a novel heat-induced post-tensioning technique utilizing unbonded near-surface mounted nickel–titanium–niobium (NiTiNb) shape-memory alloy (SMA) wires was proposed and evaluated.

This research investigates the structural behavior of precast spliced reinforced-concrete beams strengthened using Near-Surface-Mounted (NSM) steel bars. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jumlah perkuatan pada kekuatan lentur balok. Selain itu jumlah tulangan tarik pada balok juga divariasikan. Untuk memperoleh kuat lentur balok beton bertulang menggunakan sengkang, balok dibebani sampai melebihi kapasitas ultimit secara terus menerus dengan dua beban terpusat.
