A Microfabricated Nebulizer for Liquid Vaporization in Chemical Analysis
A miniaturized nebulizer chip for vaporization of liquid samples for mass spectrometry has been designed, fabricated, and characterized for fluidic and thermal performance. Silicon/glass chip has a liquid sample channel placed centrally between symmetric nebulizer gas channels.

The split/splitless inlet system has basically the same fundamental drawbacks it had when it was introduced: poor repeatability of the injected amount of sample and discrimination of high-boiling analytes. Hot needle injection improves the repeatability of the sample transfer but suffers from in-needle discrimination. Injection with a fast autosampler,

Abstract The novel analytical application of the combination of an inline electrothermal vaporization (ETV) and nebulization source for inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) has been studied. Wet plasma conditions are sustained during ETV introduction by 200 mL/min gas flow through the nebulizer, which is merged with the ETV transport

Abstract The analytical behaviour of an electrothermal vaporization (ETV) device for the introduction of mineral acid solutions in inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was evaluated. Water, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, perchloric acid and sulphuric acid in concentrations within the 0.05–1.0 mol l −1 range were studied.

A study of the determination of inorganic and organic sulfur in aqueous solutions using a kilowatt-plus helium microwave-induced plasma is presented. For sample introduction, both ultrasonic nebulization (USN) and electrothermal vaporization (ETV) were investigated.

We analyzed aluminum oxide (Al2O3) by slurry introduction inductively coupled plasma (ICP) optical emission spectrometry through modeling and experimentation. We also studied the relationship between the ICP nebulizer gas flow, the spray chamber geometry, and the particle size of Al2O3 in an attempt to minimize the need for correction factors by ...

AbstractA comparison of slurry sampling (SS)‐ETV‐ICP‐MS and slurry nebulization (SN)‐ICP‐MS for direct determination of trace impurities in titanium dioxide powder is made. The particle size effect, matrix effect and analytical characteristics of SSETV‐ICP‐MS and SN‐ICP‐MS are compared. The results have shown that SSETV‐ICP‐MS has a lower particle size
