Simulating the symmetron: domain walls and symmetry-restoring impurities
In this paper we study the dynamics of relativistic domain walls in the presence of static symmetry-restoring impurities. The field theory is precisely the same as what is known to cosmologists as the "symmetron model", whereby the usual $\mathbb{Z}_2 ...

Imidazolium‐Based Lipid Analogs as Lipofection Reagents
Imidazolium‐based lipid analogs were synthesized and assessed for liposome‐mediated gene transfer. Cytotoxicity varied with alkyl chain saturation; di‐unsaturated analogs achieved effective transfection despite higher toxicity. These insights into the effects of lipid structure aid in designing efficient and safer nonviral delivery systems.

Effect of Tube Length on the Performance of Cooling Necklace with Vortex Tube Cold Flow Generator
Abstract The vortex tube, a compact and eco-friendly device, can generate both low-temperature cold flow and high-temperature hot flow from a room-temperature compressed gas supply. Despite its potential, there has been limited research on its application as a cooling device, particularly in the context of a cooling necklace.

Exact Soliton-like Solutions of the Radial Gross-Pitaevskii Equation
We construct exact ring soliton-like solutions of the cylindrically symmetric (i.e., radial) Gross- Pitaevskii equation with a potential, using the similarity transformation method. Depending on the choice of the allowed free functions, the solutions can

Self‐Assembly of a Perfluorinated Amphiphilic Cyanine Dye into Branched Tubular J‐Aggregates
Synthesis and structural investigations of a novel perfluorinated amphiphilic cyanine dye are reported. The formation of J‐aggregates possessing several supramolecular double‐layered morphologies based on cryogenic transmission electron microscopy studies is described.

Skyrmion-like excitations in dynamical lattices
We construct discrete analogs of Skyrmions in nonlinear dynamical lattices. The Skyrmion is built as a vortex soliton of a complex field, coupled to a dark radial soliton of a real field.

This review offers a comprehensive investigation into the kinetics of the energy storage process in graphene fiber supercapacitors (GFSCs) by thoroughly analyzing parameters affecting electrolyte ion transport and storage. Moreover, this review identifies critical strategies for constructing optimal surface and structural profiles of graphene fiber ...

While the challenge of distinguishing AI‐generated from real images is widely acknowledged, the specific cognitive biases that systematically shape human judgment in this domain remain poorly understood. It is particularly unclear how a general awareness of AI capabilities fosters novel biases, like a pervasive skepticism (“impostor bias”), and how ...

A cable‐driven underwater robotic system for delicate manipulation of marine biology samples
Abstract Underwater robotic systems have the potential to assist and complement humans in dangerous or remote environments, such as in the monitoring, sampling, or manipulation of sensitive underwater species. Here we present the design, modeling, and development of an underwater manipulator (UM) with a lightweight cable‐driven structure that allows ...

Glassy Motion of Elastic Manifolds
We discuss the low-temperature dynamics of an elastic manifold driven through a random medium. For driving forces well below the $T=0$ depinning force, the medium advances via thermally activated hops over the energy barriers separating favorable ...
