Normal numbers and nested perfect necklaces
M. B. Levin used Sobol–Faure low discrepancy sequences with Pascal triangle matrices modulo 2 to construct, a real number x such that the first N terms of the sequence (2nxmod1)n≥1 have discrepancy O((logN)2∕N).

Making molecular-necklaces from rotaxanes
During an attempt to synthesize polyrotaxanes by Wittig step-growth polymerization between a dibenzylic bis(triphenylphosphonium)-stoppered [2]rotaxane, with an NH2+ recognition site encircled by a DB24C8 ring, and appropriate derivatives of terephthalde-

Discrete Splittings of the Necklace
Mathematics of Operations Research, 2008This paper deals with direct proofs and combinatorial proofs of the famous necklace theorem of Alon, Goldberg, and West. The new results are a direct proof for the case of two thieves and three types of beads, and an efficient constructive proof for the general case with two thieves.

Broadcasting in necklace graphs
Proceedings of the 2nd Canadian Conference on Computer Science and Software Engineering, 2009Broadcasting is an information dissemination problem in a connected network, in which one node, called the originator, disseminates a message to all other nodes by placing a series of calls along the communication lines of the network. Once informed, the nodes aid the originator in distributing the message.

Melioidosis is an important differential in patients presenting with a multiloculated liver abscess, especially in diabetic individuals from endemic areas. Multiloculated liver abscess with a clear centre and locules arranged peripherally along the circumference (necklace sign) is highly specific for melioidosis.
