Resistance to fenarimol in Nectria haematococca var. cucurbitae

Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology, 1991
Abstract Genetic work with 51 fenarimol-selected strains of Nectria haematococca var. cucurbitae identified a polygenic system for resistance with at least nine chromosomal loci involved. The mutant genes, designated fen -1 to fen -9, gave low levels of resistance to fenarimol and to three other C-14 demethylation inhibiting (DMI) fungicides ...

Polymorphic pattern formation in the fungus Nectria

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1973
Abstract The fungus Nectria sporulates at 1 mm intervals along its path of colonization. In a disk-shaped colony, the bands so formed link up either in concentric rings or in continuous spirals, unpredictably. Several mechanisms of pattern organization are found to be incompatible with the results of experimental interventions.
