Identification of regulatory elements in the cutinase promoter from Fusarium solani f. sp. pisi (Nectria haematococca).

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1994
The cutinase gene from Fusarium solani f. sp. pisi (Nectria haematococca) is induced upon contact with the plant cuticular polymer, cutin, by the unique hydroxy fatty acid monomers released by cutinase carried by virulent strains of the fungus, and this gene is also catabolite-repressed by glucose.

Cloning of a novel constitutively expressed pectate lyase gene pelB from Fusarium solani f. sp. pisi (Nectria haematococca, mating type VI) and characterization of the gene product expressed in Pichia pastoris [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1995
Since plant-pathogenic fungi must penetrate through pectinaceous layers of the host cell wall, pectin-degrading enzymes are thought to be important for pathogenesis. Antibodies prepared against a pectin-inducible pectate lyase (pectate lyase A [PLA]) produced by a phytopathogenic fungus, Fusarium solani f. sp. pisi (Nectria haematococca, mating type VI)

Isolation and Identification of Endophytic Fungi from Srikaya Plants (Annona squamosa) Having Potential Secondary Metabolites as Anti-Breast Cancer Activity

open access: yesMicrobiology Indonesia, 2012
Annonaceous acetogenin was extracted from Annona squamosa (Srikaya) seeds. It has cytotoxic activity against cancer cells and lower toxicity compared to other cancer drugs.

Dyrithiopsis lakefuxianensis gen et sp. nov. from Fuxian Lake, Yunnan, China and notes on the taxonomic confusion surrounding Dyrithium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
A new taxon with Dyrithium-like characteristics was collected from Lake Fuxian in China. The taxon is typical of the Amphisphaeriaceae in that it has relatively large, ostiolate, immersed ascomata, unitunicate asci with a J+ subapical ring, and brown ...

Factors determining the occurrence of Flat Bugs (Aradidae) in beech dominated forests [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The habitat requirements of most Aradidae and the decisive factors that influence their occurrence are still poorly understood. To reduce this lack of knowledge a standardised survey of Aradidae in two large beech forest areas of Bavaria (northern ...

Tolerance Against Co‐Infection of Two Partitiviruses and Ourmia‐Likevirus Is Common Among Heterobasidion annosum Strains on Artificial Media and in Dead Wood

open access: yesForest Pathology, Volume 55, Issue 5, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Some mycoviruses cause hypovirulence in fungi, but the effects often vary among different host strains. Heterobasidion partitiviruses 13‐an1 and 15‐pa1 (HetPV13‐an1 and HetPV15‐pa1) have been associated with strain‐specific and variable hypovirulence of Heterobasidion annosum, but variation in phenotypic effects of HetPV15‐pa1 or the ...

Underwater Imagery Reveals Bryozoan Habitat in Western Port, South‐East Australia

open access: yesAustral Ecology, Volume 50, Issue 9, September 2025.
Bryozoan habitats throughout the world and in Australia are rare, unique and fragile ecosystems at risk of anthropogenic disturbance. Here we describe new bryozoan habitats in Western Port, an Australian RAMSAR site near Melbourne, which do not feature in previous ecological descriptions and current habitat mapping available for the region.

Biological Flora of Britain and Ireland: Cytisus scoparius*

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 113, Issue 7, Page 1877-1933, July 2025.
Broom is an attractive and common native plant across Britain, Ireland and most of Europe, and yet it is considered a harmful and invasive weed around the rest of the world. This is aided by broom thriving on poor dry soils, helped by using green stems for photosynthesis and having root nodules to fix nitrogen.

Commodity risk assessment of Berberis thunbergii plants from the UK

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 23, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract The European Commission requested the EFSA Panel on Plant Health to prepare and deliver risk assessments for commodities listed in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/2019 as ‘high risk plants, plant products and other objects’. Taking into account the available scientific information, including the technical information provided by ...
