Abstract Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is a widely used kidney replacement therapy for patients with end‐stage kidney disease. Nevertheless, long‐term exposure to PD fluid can damage the peritoneal membrane, leading to ultrafiltration failure and, ultimately, discontinuation of PD.
