Light-dependent gravitropism and negative phototropism of inflorescence stems in a dominant Aux/IAA mutant of Arabidopsis thaliana, axr2

open access: yesLight-dependent gravitropism and negative phototropism of inflorescence stems in a dominant Aux/IAA mutant of Arabidopsis thaliana, axr2
Gravitropism and phototropism of the primary inflorescence stems were examined in a dominant Aux/IAA mutant of Arabidopsis, axr2/iaa7, which did not display either tropism in hypocotyls. axr2-1 stems completely lacked gravitropism in the dark but slowly regained it in light condition.

Negative phototropism in vaucheria terrestris regulated by calcium III. The role of calcium characterized by use of a high-power argon-ion laser as the source of unilateral blue light

open access: yesNegative phototropism in vaucheria terrestris regulated by calcium III. The role of calcium characterized by use of a high-power argon-ion laser as the source of unilateral blue light
A tip-growing Xanthophycean algal coenocyte, Vaucheria terrestris sensu Götz, is able to change the sign of its phototropic response from positive to negative as a result of its ability to sense the fluence rate (=intensity) of unilateral blue light (BL).
