Compensation of Negative Sequence Component using sequence parameters

2014 International Conference on Circuits, Power and Computing Technologies [ICCPCT-2014], 2014
Current unbalance is frequently encountered power quality problem. Negative sequence current leads to increase in machine temperature and unnecessary tripping of circuit breakers. Unequal phase current and harmonic current causes increased line losses and skin effect.

Negative obstacle detection from image sequences

SPIE Proceedings, 2011
Negative obstacle detection has been a challenging topic. In the previous researches, the distance that negative obstacles can be detected is so near that vehicles have to travel at a very low speed. In this paper, a negative obstacle detection algorithm from image sequences is proposed.

Digital Measurement of Negative Phase Sequence Voltages

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1984
A digital method of measuring negative phase sequence voltages using a computer system is described. The accuracy of such a system is discussed and the results of measurements made during site tests are given. An approximate method of separating negative phase sequence voltages inherent in the supply and those caused by the load is shown.

Sequencing of oligodeoxyribonucleotides by negative FAB - MS

International Journal of Mass Spectrometry and Ion Physics, 1983
Abstract Negative fast atom bombardment mass spectrometry (FAB-MS) (ref. 1) is a powerful tool for sequencing oligodeoxyribonucleotides. The negative ion fragmentation pattern allows a bidirectional sequence analysis (ref. 2).

Negative-sequence reactance of synchronous machines

Electrical Engineering, 1936
A theoretical analysis of the method proposed by the AIEE committee on electrical machinery for measuring the negative-sequence reactance of synchronous machines is presented in this paper. The analysis proves that the method leads to a correct measurement of the negative-sequence reactance for the operating condition most frequently met in applying ...

Negative-Sequence Directional Ground Relaying

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. Part III: Power Apparatus and Systems, 1962
The principles, problems, and solutions in applying negative sequence for directional ground relaying in 3-phase power systems are given in detail. Two general application areas are covered: (1) where system economics do not permit the necessary equipment for zero-sequence polarization and (2) for mutual induction on parallel lines.

Distribution of the insertion sequence IS1 in Gram-negative bacteria

Nature, 1981
Translocation of DNA segments is a recombinational event seen in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic chromosomes, and it is thought to be involved in controlling gene expression and in the evolution of chromosomes. In bacteria, insertion (IS) and transposable (Tn) elements not only translocate their own DNA, but also promote the rearrangement of both ...

Negative sequence control of DFG based wind turbines

2011 IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting, 2011
The paper deals with the control of negative sequence voltages and currents in wind turbine systems caused by grid fault or unsymmetrical system operation. The ensuing stator and rotor currents lead to additional thermal stress. Moreover, the interaction between the different sequence components of the current and voltage in the stator as well as rotor
