Novel Porous Polymorphs of Zinc Cyanide with Rich Thermal and Mechanical Behavior
We investigate the feasibility of four-connected nets as hypothetical zinc cyanide polymorphs, as well as their thermal and mechanical properties, through quantum chemical calculations and molecular dynamics simulations.

It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Pressure‐Induced Volumetric Negative Thermal Expansion in CoZr2 Superconductor
The study investigates the thermal expansion and superconducting properties of a CuAl2‐type (tetragonal) superconductor CoZr2 under high pressures. High‐pressure synchrotron X‐ray diffraction is performed in a pressure range of 2.9 GPa < P < 10.4 GPa ...

EXAFS and negative thermal expansion in CdTe
CdTe is affected by a low-temperature negative thermal expansion (NTE) of the lattice parameter, whose strength and temperature interval are intermediate between those of the iso-structural crystals Ge and CuCl. EXAFS measurements have been performed on CdTe from 19 to 300 K.

Carbon nanomaterial‐reinforced epoxy composites exhibit pronounced piezoresistive behavior, enabling intrinsic damage sensing under cyclic and fatigue loading. This review critically compares carbon nanotube and graphene systems, correlating filler content, percolation threshold, and gauge factor with sensing stability and damage evolution.

We use a combination of X-ray diffraction, total scattering and quantum mechanical calculations to determine the mechanism responsible for hydration-driven contraction in ZrW$_2$O$_8$. Inclusion of H$_2$O molecules within the ZrW$_2$O$_8$ network drives the concerted formation of new W--O bonds to give one-dimensional (--W--O--)$_n$ strings.

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Electrical Conductivities of Conductors, Semiconductors, and Their Mixtures at Elevated Temperatures
This article presents a comprehensive review of temperature‐dependent electrical conductivity data for multiple material classes at elevated temperatures, highlighting a persistent conductivity gap between metals and semiconductors in the range of 102$\left(10\right)^{2}$– 107$\left(10\right)^{7}$ S/m. Metal–ceramic irregular metamaterials are proposed

Materials with a negative thermal expansion coefficient contract when heated and expand when cooled. This paper reviews mechanisms of how this unusual property can be achieved at the molecular and macroscopic level. Some applications of this unusual property are also discussed.
