First observations of edge instabilities in strongly shaped negative triangularity plasmas on DIII-D
Plasma Physics and Controlled FusionThroughout the 2023 DIII-D negative triangularity (NT) campaign, unexpected magnetic fluctuations indicative of an edge localized instability were observed in the majority of strongly shaped ( −0.55⩽δ⩽−0.45) discharges.

Positive and negative triangularity in RFX-mod2: a comparative analysis
Nuclear Fusion, 2022Abstract We present a comparative analysis of practically achievable positive and negative triangularity configurations in the next RFX-mod2 tokamak campaign. The designed single-null positive triangularity plasmas—based on analogous, formerly realized scenarios in RFX-mod—are mirrored, keeping most of the other parameters fixed. In this

Theoretical studies towards a negative triangularity tokamak power plant
2023Experimental observations show that negative triangularity plasma shaping can significantly improve the energy confinement time of tokamaks. Moreover, unlike the standard positive triangularity shape, negative triangularity plasmas typically cannot access H-mode.

Symmetry-controlled negative differential resistance effect in a triangular molecule
Physical Review B, 2009We consider, within the Hubbard model, nonequilibrium transport through a triangular molecule [or, equivalently, triple quantum dot system (3QD)], weakly coupled to electrodes. The exact solution of the eigenproblem for the isolated 3QD is used for computation of the current-voltage $(I\text{\ensuremath{-}}V)$ characteristics of the device in the ...

THE NEGATIVE PERMITTIVITY AND PERMEABILITY CHARACTERISTICS OF TRIANGULAR ELECTROMAGNETIC RESONATORS
International Journal of Modern Physics B, 2011In this paper, the triangular electromagnetic resonators (TERs) is introduced and investigated. The electric mode at lower frequency and magnetic mode at higher frequency, originating from coupling to the electric field and magnetic field, are validated through the measurement in parallel-plate waveguide system, parameter retrieval algorithm and ...
