ABSTRACT The Montana Tropical cattle, a Taurine and Indicine composite, were developed in Brazil since 1994 and were based on crossing four biological types of cattle: zebu (mainly Nelore), tropical adapted taurine (mainly Senepol and Romosinuano), British taurine (mainly Angus) and continental taurine (as Charolais, Simental and Limousin).

Cervical Vertebral Stenotic Myelopathy in a Nelore Calf

This paper aims to report clinical, laboratory, radiographic, and pathological features in a case of cervical vertebral stenotic myelopathy (CVSM) affecting a 4-month-old Nelore calf for the first time. During physical examination, the calf could stand if assisted when lifting by the tail but fallen to the ground when trying to walk.

Cerebellar abiotrophy (CA) is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system (CNS) that has been reported in humans and animals. In cattle, CA had been reported in Bos taurus taurus and crossbreed cattle. CA is characterized by degeneration and loss of Purkinje cells and decrease in the population of granule cells.
