Asymmetric Whisker‐Inspired Sensor Pairs for Enhanced Airflow Sensing on Drones

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work incorporates asymmetric cross‐sections into a whisker‐inspired sensor pair to enhance airflow sensing. By comparing signals between two offset asymmetric whiskers, the system improves flow heading estimation and identifies the presence of fan‐generated wind during quadrotor flight.

Leader–Member Exchange, Compliance and Sustainability Performance in Carbon‐Market Governance: A Global South Perspective

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines how Leader–Member Exchange quality shapes engagement, compliance, and sustainability performance within Uganda's emerging carbon‐trading market, adopting LMX theory to sustainability governance in a Global South context. A cross‐sectional survey of 206 carbon‐market participants in Uganda measured LMX quality, environmental

Surgical treatment of a large arachnoid cyst with multiple complications [PDF]

open access: yesSrpski Arhiv za Celokupno Lekarstvo, 2018
Introduction. Arachnoid cysts are common among the general population. Best treatment option is still the subject of much debate. Surgical options include open-craniotomy or endoscopic cyst fenestration, cysto-peritoneal shunt insertion, or ...

A Semi‐Automated Microfluidic Platform Employing Machine Learning Analysis to Study Adhesion Kinetics in Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesMicroscopy Research and Technique, EarlyView.
We have developed a semi‐automated shear flow platform using bright‐field optics and a machine‐learning analysis algorithm to dissect tumor‐microenvironment interactions. The algorithm quantifies the extent of adhesion at the single‐cell level and delivers consistent results within minutes instead of hours, facilitating high‐throughput analysis ...

Dynamics of diversity, distribution patterns and interspecific associations of understory herbs in the city-suburb-exurb context of Wuhan city, China [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Biological Sciences, 2013
The dynamics of herb diversity, distribution patterns and interspecific associations of dominant herbs in natural forests at three growing stages in a city-suburb-exurb context in Wuhan City were studied using a fixed plot. The results show that

Lack of Compliance in Gillnet Fisheries Regulations Increases Risk to a Vulnerable Species

open access: yesFisheries Management and Ecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article presents an analysis of regulatory compliance in a Brazilian gillnet fishery, based on Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) tracking data. Satellite transmissions records, interpreted as proxies for gillnet haulings events, were analyzed and classified using a neural network to assess the level of compliance of the gillnet fleet.

UC2‐ESP: A general‐purpose framework for open‐source microscopy control

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Building the optical setup for investigating biological questions comes with challenges. A major such challenge is setting up and synchronizing the control of multiple hardware components such as stages, cameras and lasers. With UC2‐ESP, we present a low‐cost electronics system powered by the ESP32 microcontroller (∼$10), designed as an ...

A Static Phantom for Harmonization of Hyperpolarized [1–13C]Pyruvate Metabolic Magnetic Resonance Imaging

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 4, Page 1769-1777, October 2026.
ABSTRACT PurposeTo develop and characterize a static, reusable 13C phantom designed to assess and support the harmonization of MRI setups used for hyperpolarized (HP) [1‐13C]pyruvate imaging. MethodsThe phantom was designed as a 200‐mm‐diameter polycarbonate sphere filled with 8M natural abundance urea and incorporating distinct modules for assessing ...
