Toward 959 nematode genomes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The sequencing of the complete genome of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans was a landmark achievement and ushered in a new era of whole-organism, systems analyses of the biology of this powerful model organism. The success of the C.

Biocontrol potential of naturally occurring entomopathogens against Maladera formosae in corn–soybean rotated systems

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 8, Page 4894-4903, August 2025.
We isolated three insect‐killing nematodes from Maladera formosae infested corn–soybean rotated fields, Heterorhabditis bacteriophora, Pristionchus sp., and Steinernema carpocapsae. Results from greenhouse and field microcosm studies indicate all three nematodes can infect and kill M. formosae grubs and persist through winter.

Drone Imagery and Metabarcoding as Diagnostic Tools of Poor Growth in Potato Fields, With an Emphasis on Nematodes

open access: yesPlant Pathology, Volume 74, Issue 6, Page 1612-1621, August 2025.
Combining aerial photography and metabarcoding offers a promising possibility to identify biological drivers of growth differences across organism groups at field scale. ABSTRACT Metabarcoding targeting nematodes, bacteria, fungi and oomycetes was used in combination with multispectral drone imagery and traditional soil extraction of nematodes to ...

Helminth fauna of Lebanon Lizard, Phoenicolacerta laevis (Gray, 1838), (Squamata: Lacertidae) from Southern Turkey

open access: yesHelminthologia, 2016
In the years 2010 and 2014, fifty-four samples of Phoenicolacerta laevis from eight localities in Adana (n=6) and Hatay (n=48) were collected and examined for helminth parasites. New host and locality records were recorded. As a results of present study,

Molecular determinants archetypical to the phylum Nematoda [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2009
AbstractBackgroundNematoda diverged from other animals between 600–1,200 million years ago and has become one of the most diverse animal phyla on earth. Most nematodes are free-living animals, but many are parasites of plants and animals including humans, posing major ecological and economical challenges around the world.ResultsWe investigated phylum ...
