Magnetic Structure of Neodymium
Neutron diffraction measurements have been made on a single crystal of neodymium at temperatures between 1.6° and 20°K. The onset of magnetic ordering occurs at 19°K and the magnetic structure changes at 7.5°K. The crystal structure is hexagonal with a four-layer stacking sequence of type ABAC.

Effect of the surface magnetic anisotropy of neodymium atoms on the coercivity in neodymium permanent magnets [PDF]
The Nd permanent magnet (${\mathrm{Nd}}_{2}{\mathrm{Fe}}_{14}\mathrm{B}$) is an indispensable material used in modern energy conversion devices. The realization of high coercivity at finite temperatures is an important issue. One of the important ingredients for controlling the coercive force is the surface property of magnetic grains.

On the Optimal Pole Width for Direct Drive Linear Wave Power Generators Using Ferrite Magnets
In this work, ferrite magnet linear generators for wave power applications are considered. These machines operate at unusually low speeds, around and even below 1 m/s, at which the optimal geometry differs from standard machines, since the copper loss ...

Pain in the penis due to attraction caused by neodymium magnets
Key Clinical Message Multiple neodymium magnets can pinch tissue and cause barotrauma. Be careful if the tissue of the penis or foreskin is pinched, as this may cause foreskin necrosis or damage to the urethra.
