Novel Functional Materials via 3D Printing by Vat Photopolymerization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Perspective systematically analyzes strategies for incorporating functionalities into 3D‐printed materials via Vat Photopolymerization (VP). It explores the spectrum of achievable functionalities in recently reported novel materials—such as conductive, energy‐storing, biodegradable, stimuli‐responsive, self‐healing, shape‐memory, biomaterials, and

Light Activated Induction of Cuproptosis in Resistant Cancer Cells Using Polymeric BODIPY Nanoparticles for Photoactivated Chemotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a photo‐responsive nanoparticle platform that precisely triggers copper‐dependent cuproptotic cell death in (drug‐resistant) cancer cells. The system remains stable and inactive in the dark but releases cytotoxic species upon red‐light irradiation, achieving potent activity in drug‐resistant breast cancer cells.

Redefining Therapies for Drug‐Resistant Tuberculosis: Synergistic Effects of Antimicrobial Peptides, Nanotechnology, and Computational Design

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Antimicrobial peptide (AMP)‐loaded nanocarriers provide a multifunctional strategy to combat drug‐resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis. By enhancing intracellular delivery, bypassing efflux pumps, and disrupting bacterial membranes, this platform restores phagolysosome fusion and macrophage function.

Magnet ingestion leading to intestinal fistulae, phytobezoar formation, and small bowel obstruction

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Surgery Case Reports, 2019
Ingestion of neodymium magnets carries risks of dangerous intestinal complications including necrosis of the intestinal wall, bowel perforation, enteroenteric fistulae, and even death. Prompt endoscopic or surgical removal can prevent these complications.

Taming the Immiscibility of Gold, Iron, and Boron to Craft Chemodegradable Nanoparticles for Multimodal Imaging and Radiotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Over half of cancer patients undergo radiotherapy. Laser ablation enabled the synthesis of immiscible Au‐Fe‐B nanoparticles designed as degradable bimodal radiosensitizers for X‐ray radiotherapy (XRT), boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT), and bimodal imaging for X‐ray computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). These nanosensitizers

Revisiting Faraday’s Law: A Fresh Perspective Using Neodymium Magnets Moving Under Natural Motion Laws [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ensino de Física
Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction is one of the four Maxwell’s equations, presented here in vector notation. Its discovery paved the way for a second industrial revolution based on machines powered by electricity.

Real‐Time 3D Ultrasound Imaging with an Ultra‐Sparse, Low Power Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a novel, ultra‐sparse ultrasound architecture that paves the way for wearable real‐time 3D imaging. By integrating a unique convolutional array with chirped data acquisition, the system achieves high‐resolution volumetric scans at a fraction of the power and hardware complexity.

Design and Implementation of NMR Permanent Magnet Precision Temperature Controller

open access: yesChinese Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 2018
Neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) permanent magnets always used to generate a static magnetic field in low field NMR spectrometers has poor temperature stability. Temperature fluctuations will affect the reliability of NMR experiments. In order to improve the

4-q MAGNETIC STRUCTURE OF NEODYMIUM

open access: yesLe Journal de Physique Colloques, 1988
We have used two neutron-scattering techniques to investigate the magnetic structure of neodymium. By observations of harmonic combinations of its modulation vectors we have deduced that the low temperature magnetic structure is quadruple-q. We have confirmed this by observing a single domain of the structure in a suitably aligned magnetic field.

Nanotherapies for Atherosclerosis: Targeting, Catalysis, and Energy Transduction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Atherosclerosis management is hindered by poor drug targeting and plaque heterogeneity. Nanotechnology overcomes these barriers via three core strategies: (1) target‐engineered nanocarriers that achieve lesion‐specific precision via ligand modification, biomimetic camouflage, stimuli‐responsive release, and self‐propelling nanomotors; (2) catalytic ...
