The mitochondrial genome of common whelk Buccinum undatum (Neogastropoda: Buccinidae)

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2019
The complete mitogenome of Buccinum undatum obtained from transcriptome analysis is presented here. The mitogenome is 15,265 bp in length and comprises 13 protein-coding genes, 2 ribosomal subunit genes, and 22 transfer RNAs. The complete genome was used

A Middle Triassic Cassian‐type fauna (Pelsa‐Vazzoler Lagerstätte) and the adaptive radiation of the Modern evolutionary fauna

open access: yesPapers in Palaeontology, Volume 10, Issue 4, July/August 2024.
Abstract We describe a high‐diversity silicified assemblage of marine molluscs (Pelsa‐Vazzoler Lagerstätte) from the upper Ladinian of the Agordo Dolomites (northeastern Italy). New data on the Triassic rebound, after the end‐Permian mass extinction, constrain it to an interval of relatively stable climatic conditions.

The complete mitochondrial genome and phylogenetic analysis of Fusinus longicaudus (Gastropoda: Fasciolariidae)

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2019
We first determined the complete mitochondrial genome of Fusinus longicaudus (Gastropoda: Fasciolariidae). The circular mitochondrial genome is 16,319 bp in length, consisting of 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNA genes, and two ribosomal RNA genes.

First report of Vexillum zelotypum Reeve 1845 (Costellariidae: Neogastropoda) in Korea

open access: yesJournal of Asia-Pacific Biodiversity, 2016
The costellariid gastropod Vexillum zelotypum Reeve 1845a is reported for the first time on Jeju Island. Four Costellariidae species are now part of the island's mollusk fauna.

Early cenozoic differentiation of polar marine faunas. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
The widespread assumption that the origin of polar marine faunas is linked to the onset of major global cooling in the Late Eocene-Early Oligocene is being increasingly challenged.

Dietary partitioning among three cryptobenthic reef fish mesopredators revealed by visual analysis, metabarcoding of gut content, and stable isotope analysis

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 6, Issue 2, March–April 2024.
This study provides the first evidence of dietary partitioning of three common pseudochromid species in the Red Sea using a combination of (i) visual stomach content analysis, (ii) stomach content DNA metabarcoding (18S, COI), and (iii) stable isotope analysis (δ15N, δ13C). Our results revealed that Pseudochromis flavivertex, P.

Fossils from the lower globigerina limestone formation at Wardija, Gozo (Miocene, Aquitanian), with a description of some new pteropod species (Mollusca, Gastropoda) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Phosphatised fossil assemblages of four samples from the Lower Globigerina Limestone Formation at Wardija (SE Gozo, Malta) were analysed, with special emphasis on holoplanktonic molluscs (Gastropoda: Heteropoda and Pteropoda). The upper sample (sample 4)

Gastropoda, Neogastropoda, Buccinidae, Cantharus tranquebaricus (Gmelin, 1791): first record from Pondicherry mangroves, southeast coast of India [PDF]

open access: yesCheck List, 2011
Cantharus tranquebaricus (Gmelin, 1791) is reported for the first time in Pondicherry mangroves, southeast coast of India. Three adult specimens have been found in the Thengaithittu lagoon during post monsoon season of 2009.
