The neogregarine Syncystis aeshnae Tuzet and Manier, 1953, was obtained from two species of dragonfly larvae, Aeshna grandis and Libellula quadrimaculata, collected in southern Sweden. Merogony, gamogony, and sporogony were observed in the adipose tissue, which was destroyed, and the haemocoele. Merozoites had a traditional apical complex.
