Phase‐Change Solvents for Thermally Switchable Ion Conduction in Organogels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Organogels containing salts dissolved in phase‐change solvents exhibit thermally switchable ion conduction. The organogels, which display an over 10 000‐fold on‐off ratio and high cycling stability, can be synthesized with a wide range of salts and customizable conductivity/temperature relations for applications in ionotronics and energy storage ...

Meanings of fractions as demonstrated by future primary teachers in the initial phase of teacher education [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Fractions are a fundamental content of primary-level education and must therefore be included in the training courses for primary school teachers. Experts argue that deep understanding is required to improve primary school teachers’ knowledge of this ...

A Quasi‐Solid Ionic Liquid‐Polymer Hybrid Electrolyte for Shuttle‐Free and Dendrite‐Free Aqueous Zinc─Bromine Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A quasi‐solid ionic liquid‐polymer hybrid electrolyte is proposed to achieve shuttle‐free and dendrite‐free aqueous Zn─Br batteries. Synergetic effects between Zn2+ selective conduction of polyanionic network and polybromide complexing additive suppress the shuttle effect and improve Zn reversibility.

A few Thomas’ Neologisms (from the Commentary on John) not registered in Lexicons. A contribution to the study of Thomas’ language and Medieval Latin Lexicography

open access: yesCirce de Clásicos y Modernos, 2018
Our objective is twofold: 1) to point out the convenience of incorporating some possible neologisms or other words found in Aquinas’ Commentary on John in future editions of lexicons or in new works devoted to Medieval Latin; 2) to reflect on the ...

Tailor‐Made Protective LixAlSy Layer for Lithium Anodes to Enhance the Stability of Solid‐State Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
An intentionally added, chemically formed LixAlSy coating stabilizes the lithium–electrolyte interface in solid‐state Li–S batteries. The layer suppresses side reactions, preserves smooth charge transfer, and improves ion transport from the start. This approach offers a practical route to more durable solid‐state batteries and a clearer understanding ...

Fabrication Method of Directional Microstructure for High Energy Density, High Power Battery Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Aqueous directional ice templating (DIT) is developed for making NMC811 cathodes containing vertically aligned pore arrays through electrode thickness. The effects of calendering are studied for the DIT electrodes to find optimal calendering and simultaneously achieve high gravimetric and volumetric energy densities and rate capability for lithium ion ...
