Development of tCAP(N3): Affinity Peptide‐Aided, pH‐Triggered Strategy for Site‐Specific Native IgG Modification

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The tCAP(N3) reagent, featuring a stable and self‐activating precursor, enables site‐specific conjugation of native IgGs. This Fc‐affinity peptide approach selectively transfers an Ac‐Lys(N3)‐Gly‐Gly payload to Lys248, producing divalently azidated antibody while preserving its biological function.

Overview of the blood transfusion policy in preterms on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Preterm infants on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit receive a greater number of red cell transfusions than any other hospitalised group. Over the past twenty years research has focused on setting standards to determine when it is necessary to transfuse ...

Early‐Life Clinical Factors Shape Cerebellar Structure in Preterm‐Born Children

open access: yesAnnals of the Child Neurology Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Preterm birth alters typical brain development due to complex exposures related to neonatal illness, pain management, and brain injury. Despite an increased understanding of neonatal brain injury on developmental outcomes, the association of cerebellar maturation with school‐age motor and cognitive function remains incompletely ...

Facilitating the Parent/Child Bond: The Training, the Role, and the Perceived Self-Efficacy of Speech-Language Pathologists in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the facilitation of parent/child bonding through the roles, training, and perceived self-efficacy of speech-language pathologists working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, as well as to investigate what ...

[Noise exposure in neonatal intensive care units].

open access: yesActa otorhinolaryngologica Italica : organo ufficiale della Societa italiana di otorinolaringologia e chirurgia cervico-facciale, 1994
This study evaluates the exposure of newborn babies in neonatal intensive care units (NICU) to noise which can cause hearing lesions directly (acoustic trauma) as well as indirectly (hypoxia). Moreover, noise can have an aggravating effect when combined with other potentially harmful factors in the NICU, such as ototoxic medication or stress due to ...

Fetal Pain Perception: Legislative Assertions and Developmental Neuroscience

open access: yesAnnals of the Child Neurology Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pain perception is a conscious experience, but neither pain nor consciousness is defined in the developing human fetus. Emergent consciousness may be regarded as a phenomenon that ultimately arises from an essential minimum of functional neuronal connectivity. Proposed U.S.

Risk of Acute Kidney Injury Associated With Nephrotoxic Burden in Hospitalized Patients: A Scoping Review

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Limited evidence exists synthesizing the risk of acute kidney injury (AKI) associated with the concomitant administration of multiple nephrotoxic drugs, and even less examining the concept of nephrotoxic burden. The objective of this scoping review was to (1) identify definitions of nephrotoxic burden; (2) methods used to quantify (use of calculations)

PKRxiv: A Best Practice Model for Advancing Pharmacoequity Through Open Pharmacokinetic Data Sharing

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Model‐informed drug development is increasingly integrated across the drug development continuum, enabling more efficient, cost‐effective, and targeted trials while reducing reliance on animal studies. Achieving pharmacoequity requires not only equitable access to medicines but also to the data and knowledge that inform drug development and regulatory ...

Advancing Maternal Health with Long‐Acting Therapeutics: Priorities, Efficacy and Safety Considerations, and Emerging Technologies

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Maternal health remains a critical global concern, particularly in underserved populations and in low‐ and middle‐income countries where access to safe and effective therapeutics is limited. Despite the use of medications by most women during pregnancy, the exclusion of pregnant and lactating women from clinical trials has resulted in significant data ...
