Müllerian Duct Aplasia in a Girl With SMARCB1‐Related Coffin–Siris Syndrome: A Rare Co‐Occurring Anomaly

open access: yesClinical Genetics, EarlyView.
Genetic causes of Müllerian aplasia remain largely unknown. We report the first molecularly confirmed case of Coffin–Siris syndrome 3 caused by a de novo SMARCB1 variant presenting with Müllerian aplasia, supporting a potential association between BAF complex dysfunction and abnormal Müllerian duct development. Vasopressin Use in Extremely Preterm Infants With Refractory Cardiopulmonary Instability: Physiological Response and Mortality‐Associated Factors

open access: yesJournal of Paediatrics and Child Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the physiological response following vasopressin initiation and identify factors associated with mortality in extremely preterm infants with refractory cardiopulmonary instability. Study Design Retrospective cohort study of infants born at less than 29 weeks' gestation who received vasopressin. Physiological responses and

Lung Ultrasound Practice in Australian and New Zealand Neonatal Intensive Care Units—A Survey

open access: yesJournal of Paediatrics and Child Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Lung ultrasound (LUS) is increasingly used in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) as a bedside, radiation‐free imaging tool for assessing respiratory conditions. Despite its advantages, data on current LUS practices in Australasian NICUs are limited. This study aimed to evaluate LUS use across NICUs in both countries.

Periodontal Medicine Rewired: Mechanisms Linking Periodontitis to Systemic Diseases

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
This review reorganizes decades of research in periodontal medicine into a multi‐dimensional framework, illustrating how periodontitis influences systemic health through at least seven interconnected mechanisms. ABSTRACT Periodontitis is now recognized not merely as a localized oral condition but as a systemic disease linked to over 70 communicable and
