Femoral Skeletal Growth in Early Infancy Assessed by Radiofrequency Echographic Multi‐Spectrometry

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
Radiofrequency echographic multi‐spectrometry (REMS) acquisition of raw ultrasound radiofrequency signals from neonatal bone. Signals undergo preprocessing and frequency‐domain analysis to extract spectral features reflecting bone properties. A software‐guided procedure then identifies and selects standardized regions of interest (ROIs).

From Negative Duplex to Phlegmasia in Minutes: Bedside POCUS Identifies Rapid Thrombosis Unmasking Underlying May–Thurner Syndrome

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
Point‐of‐care‐ultrasound revealed an evolving acute noncompressible deep vein thrombosis (asterisks) in the left lower extremity veins (right panel) that was not evident on duplex ultrasound 14 min prior (left panel; asterisks demonstrate compressed veins). The patient was treated emergently and found to have May–Thurner syndrome.

Diagnostic Accuracy of Shear Wave Elastography for the Assessment of Congestive Liver Disease in Patients With Structural Heart Disease

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
Shear wave elastography demonstrated moderate diagnostic accuracy for detecting congestive liver disease in patients with structural heart disease. Increased liver stiffness was associated with echocardiographic markers of venous congestion, supporting the concept that elastography may serve as a noninvasive marker of cardiohepatic interaction ...

Diagnosis by Resolution: Ultrasound Follow‐Up of Neonatal Polypoid Cystitis Mimicking Botryoid Rhabdomyosarcoma

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
In neonatal bladder masses, benign inflammatory conditions like polypoid cystitis can mimic malignancy on ultrasound. In stable neonates with evidence of infection, short‐interval ultrasound follow‐up after antibiotic therapy allows “diagnosis by resolution.” This conservative approach safely avoids unnecessary invasive procedures while maintaining ...

Complicated Acute Appendicitis Conservatively Treated in Two Patients With Crohn's Disease: The Role of Intestinal Ultrasound and Contrast‐Enhanced Ultrasound

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
Intestinal ultrasound and contrast‐enhanced ultrasound were used to diagnose, monitor, and guide conservative treatment of complicated acute appendicitis in two patients with Crohn's disease. Serial imaging enabled early identification of treatment response, allowing long‐term surgery‐free outcomes.

Ultrasound Characteristics of Twisted Pedunculated Subserosal Uterine Leiomyomas: A Case Report and a Systematic Review of the Literature

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
Ultrasound may aid in the preoperative diagnosis of torsed pedunculated subserosal uterine leiomyomas (TPSUL), a rare but urgent condition. This study identifies consistent sonographic features across 42 cases, supporting ultrasound as a valuable diagnostic tool and highlighting the need for standardization in TPSUL imaging.
