A Critical Review on the Evolution of Chitosan‐Based Injectable Hydrogels in Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The graphical illustration depicts hydrogel formulation using chitosan and biocompatible cross‐linkers, major advantages, and incorporation of cells, osteoinductive factors, and therapeutic drugs. Following injection, pH‐responsive gelation enables controlled drug release, promotes cell recruitment and osteogenic differentiation, enhances extracellular

Giant Fibrous Tumor Misdiagnosed as Traumatic Hemothorax

open access: yes, 2008
Solitary fibrous tumors of the pleura are neoplasms of the mesenchymal tissue of the pleural mesothelium. The most frequent symptoms are dyspnea, coughing and chest pain. A 45-year-old female patient presented after a thoracic contusion.

Solitary fibrous tumour and haemangiopericytoma: evolution of a concept

open access: yes, 2006
Haemangiopericytoma (HPC) was described in 1942 by Stout and Murray as a distinctive soft tissue neoplasm, presumably of pericytic origin, exhibiting a characteristic well-developed "staghorn" branching vascular pattern.

EWSR1::ATF1 fusions characterize a group of extra-abdominal epithelioid and round cell mesenchymal neoplasms, phenotypically overlapping with sclerosing epithelioid fibrosarcomas, and intra-abdominal FET::CREB fusion neoplasms [PDF]

open access: yes
With the increasing use of next generation sequencing in soft tissue pathology, particularly in neoplasms not fitting any World Health Organization (WHO) category, the spectrum of EWSR1 fusion-associated soft tissue neoplasms has been expanding ...

Spatially Configurable Conformal Sensor Integration on an Ultra‐Fine Metallic Needle for Minimally Invasive Deep‐Tissue Oxygen Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A multi‐point oxygen‐sensing ultra‐fine needle (MO‐UFN) is developed by conformally integrating a lithographically patterned flexible electrochemical sensor array onto a clinical acupuncture needle. The platform preserves an approximately 0.3 mm diameter while enabling spatially resolved oxygen profiling along the insertion pathway.

Solitary Fibrous Tumor/Hemangiopericytoma Dichotomy Revisited: A Restless Family of Neoplasms in the CNS

open access: yes, 2016
Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) and hemangiopericytoma (HPC) both entered the literature as separate entities in the early to mid 1900s. In contrast to their central nervous system (CNS) counterparts, there has been a tendency to consider these 2 entities ...
