Ductile Extrusion Triggered by Continental Collision in NE Brazil

open access: yesTerra Nova, Volume 38, Issue 4, Page 266-277, August 2026.
ABSTRACT The Borborema Province in northeastern Brazil hosts one of the world's largest strike‐slip shear zone networks, active during the late Neoproterozoic assembly of West Gondwana. Whether these shear zones initiated during active continental collision or as a post‐orogenic response to far‐field stresses remains debated.

Deeply concealed half-graben at the SW margin of the East European Craton (SE Poland) — Evidence for Neoproterozoic rifting prior to the break-up of Rodinia

open access: yesJournal of Palaeogeography, 2018
Baltica was one of continents formed as a result of Rodinia break-up 850–550 Ma. It was separated from Amazonia(?) by the Tornquist Ocean, the opening of which was preceded by Neoproterozoic extension in a network of continental rifts.

Reappraisal of the lithological units of the Wuguan Complex: implication for the Paleozoic evolution of the Qinling orogenic belt

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The Wuguan Complex, located along the southern margin of the Shangdan suture zone, plays a critical role in investigating the tectonic evolution of the Qinling orogenic belt and constraining the collision timing between the North and South China Blocks ...

Tonian age marker acritarch taxa Hermann from the Mesoproterozoic Chhattisgarh Supergroup, Baradwar sub-basin, central India and its stratigraphic significance

open access: yesJournal of the Palaeontological Society of India
Compression-preserved acid-resistant organic-walled microfossils (OWM) entombed in fine-grained siliciclastic rocks provide an essential tool for biostratigraphic correlation, especially when alternative methods are scarce.

Neoproterozoic denudation of a Laurentian superbasin

open access: yes
It has long been speculated that isolated Paleoproterozoic basins of northern Laurentia are remnants of a once contiguous sedimentary cover due to similarities in stratigraphy, paleocurrent directions, sediment provenance, and geochronological data. However, corroborating evidence for this 'superbasin hypothesis' has been lacking outside the footprints
