Neospora caninum in dairy cattle in Paraná State, Brazil: histological and immunohistochemical analys is in fetuses/
Neospora caninum em vacas leiteiras no Estado do Paraná, Brasil: análise histológica e imuno-histoquímica em fetos

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Agrárias, 2005
Thirty-four bovine abortions (fetuses) from Paraná State were examined histologically and immunohistochemically. Eight fetuses had non-suppurative encephalitis and miocarditis, and Neospora caninum were detected by immunohistochemistry.

Detection of high levels of congenital transmission of toxoplasma gondii in natural urban populations of mus domesticus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The relative importance of different transmission routes of Toxoplasma gondii has been a matter for debate. This ubiquitous parasite is generally thought to be transmitted by infective oocysts excreted by the definitive host, the cat.

A large-scale proteogenomics study of apicomplexan pathogens-Toxoplasma gondii and Neospora caninum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Proteomics data can supplement genome annotation efforts, for example being used to confirm gene models or correct gene annotation errors. Here, we present a large‐scale proteogenomics study of two important apicomplexan pathogens: Toxoplasma gondii and ...

Prevalence of Neospora caninum antibodies in sheep flocks of Uberlândia county, MG Prevalência de anticorpos anti-Neospora caninum em rebanhos de ovinos do município de Uberlândia, MG

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Parasitologia Veterinária, 2010
Neosporosis is a parasitic disease that occurs in sheep and is associated with reproductive failure. The aim of this study was to verify seroprevalence of Neospora caninum antibodies in 12 sheep flocks in Uberlândia county, Minas Gerais, Brazil, using ...

Herd-level prevalence of selected endemic infectious diseases of dairy cows in Great Britain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
To implement appropriate and effective disease control programs at the national level, up-to-date and unbiased information on disease frequency is needed. The aim of this study was to estimate the prevalence of selected endemic infectious diseases in the

The genome of the protozoan parasite Cystoisospora suis and a reverse vaccinology approach to identify vaccine candidates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Vaccine development targeting protozoan parasites remains challenging, partly due to the complex interactions between these eukaryotes and the host immune system.

Molecular and Serological Evaluation of Neospora caninum Infec-tion in Dogs from a Rural Setting in Fars Province, Southern Iran

open access: yesIranian Journal of Parasitology, 2021
Background: Dogs, as the definitive host of Neospora caninum, are important in the epidemiology of this parasitic infection. We aimed to determine the prevalence of N.

High levels of congenital transmission of toxoplasma gondii in longitudinal and cross-sectional studies on sheep farms provides evidence of vertical transmission in ovine hosts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Recent research suggests that vertical transmission may play an important role in sustaining Toxoplasma gondii infection in some species. We report here that congenital transmission occurs at consistently high levels in pedigree Charollais and outbred ...
