Neprilysin-dependent neuropeptide Y cleavage in the liver promotes fibrosis by blocking NPY-receptor 1

open access: yesCell Reports, 2023
Summary: Development of liver fibrosis is paralleled by contraction of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs), the main profibrotic hepatic cells. Yet, little is known about the interplay of neprilysin (NEP) and its substrate neuropeptide Y (NPY), a potent ...

Toward Next‐Generation High‐Speed Communication and Imaging: Solution‐Processed Sb2(S,Se)3/CdS Heterojunction for Ultrafast Self‐Powered Photodetector

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A high‐quality solution‐processed Sb2(S,Se)3/CdS heterojunction is designed to overcome the intrinsic limitations of conventional photodetectors. The fabricated device achieves an excellent self‐powered performance, including a high responsivity of 0.6 A W−1, an ultrahigh specific detectivity of 7.68 × 1012 Jones, and a wide 3db bandwidth of 175 kHz ...

Association between soluble neprilysin and diabetes: Findings from a prospective longitudinal study

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2023
BackgroundThe potential role of neprilysin (NEP) in glucose metabolism has been found by basic studies but lacks population evidence. The objective of this study was to examine the association between serum NEP and diabetes in Chinese adults.MethodsIn a ...

Fabrication of High‐Density Multimodal Neural Probes Based on Heterogeneously Integrated CMOS

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A chiplet‐based methodology democratizes active neural probe development on standard bulk CMOS services. This yields the first probe combining high‐density electrophysiology (416 electrodes) with calcium imaging (832 photodiodes) and complete on‐chip signal processing across 13 shanks.

Detection and attribution of positive net ecosystem productivity extremes in China's terrestrial ecosystems during 2000-2016

open access: yesEcological Indicators, 2021
Positive net ecosystem productivity (NEP) extreme represents an extreme carbon sink in the terrestrial ecosystem. Studying positive NEP extremes and their control mechanisms is vital for a better understanding of the carbon cycle and mitigation of global

Ultrathin Quasi‐2D Perovskite‐Organic Segregated‐Structure Coupling for High‐Performance Narrowband Photomultiplication Detectors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Quasi‐2D perovskite‐organic segregated‐structure coupling enables low‐power narrowband photomultiplication photodetectors with 110 nm perovskite layer. The optimal device achieves 1200% EQE and 1.82 × 1011 Jones D* at 3 V, offering a new strategy for miniaturized high‐selectivity optoelectronic sensing.

Consumer Valuation of Meat Alternatives and Labeling Policies: A Comparative Perspective

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates and compares US consumer perceptions and the impact of environmental, human health, and animal welfare information related to conventional meat on preferences for meat alternatives and labeling policies. Using the best–worst scaling method across 10 different burger alternatives, our results show that the meat burger is
