Unravelling the Current Status of Rice Stripe Mosaic Virus: Its Geographical Spread, Biology, Epidemiology, and Management

open access: yesAgronomy
Rice stripe mosaic virus (RSMV) belongs to the Cytorhabdovirus species in the Rhabdoviridae family. Recently, RSMV was widely spread in East Asia and caused severe yield losses.

Dynamic Analysis and Optimal Control of the Spread of Tungro Virus Disease in Rice Plants Considering Refugia Planting and Pesticide Application

open access: yesMathematics
One of the main obstacles in rice cultivation is tungro disease, caused by Rice Tungro Spherical Virus (RTSV) and Rice Tungro Bacilliform Virus (RTBV), which are transmitted by green leafhopper vectors (Nephotettix virescens).

Effectiveness of Kuit Lime Leaf Extract and Gelinggang Leaf Extract as Control of the Nephotettix virescens

open access: yesJurnal Biologi Tropis
The green planthopper (Nephotettix virescens) is a major pest that significantly disrupts rice production by transmitting grassy stunt and empty grain viruses. This research aims to develop an effective botanical pesticide from Kuit lime (Citrus amblycarpa) and Gelinggang (Cassia alata) leaf extracts to control green planthopper populations.

Dinamika Populasi Nephotettix virescens pada Dua Pola Tanam Padi Sawah

open access: yesJurnal Perlindungan Tanaman Indonesia, 1999
Planting pattern of irrigated rice in Indonesia can be categorized generally into consecutive rice-rice-rice and rice-rice-fallow/secondary crop patterns. A study was conducted in farmer’s fields in two planting patterns in 1997 and 1998 to elucidate population dynamics of green leafhopper, vector of tungro disease and factors affecting their dynamics.

Relations of rice tungro bacilliform and rice tungro spherical viruses with their vector Nephotettix virescens.

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Phytopathology, 1983
Rice tungro bacilliform virus (RTBV) and rice tungro spherical virus (RTSV) were isolated from rice plant infected with a Philippines isolate of tungro. RTBV was transmitted alone or together with RTSV by the leafhopper Nephotettix virescens from rice plants infected with both RTBV and RTSV, but not from plants with RTBV alone, while RTSV was ...
