Nephron sparing surgery in complex kidney tumors
Urologiia, 2020To analyze the results of nephron sparing surgery (NSS) in patients with complex and large kidney tumors (R.E.N.A.L. 10-12).A total of 361 interventions for kidney neoplasm were performed from 2013 to 2018, including 207 (57,34%) NSS. The complex renal tumors were defined using R.E.N.A.L. nephrometry score. In 44 patients, tumors had a R.E.N.A.L. score

Evaluation of the nephron‐sparing surgery formula in Wilms tumors
Pediatric Blood & Cancer, 2020Definitions of nephron‐sparing surgery (NSS) procedures in Wilms tumor (WT) are not clear. The new UMBRELLA protocol offers a formula (NSS(X)‐SRM(n)‐PRM(n)‐RRP(n%)) to better define the different NSS parameters.

Computed tomography after nephron-sparing surgery
Abdominal Imaging, 2015The increased use of abdominal cross-sectional imaging has contributed to a greater detection of incidental small renal masses. Treatment options for localized disease renal cell carcinoma include radical nephrectomy or partial nephrectomy (PN), the former being preferred for treatment of early-stage tumors.

Adenocarcinoma of the kidney remains a challenge in urologic oncology. While prostate cancer and bladder neoplasms are much more frequent than kidney cancer, the mortality from kidney cancer can be estimated to be twice as high as that from bladder and 3 times as high as that from prostate cancer.

Minerva urologica e nefrologica = The Italian journal of urology and nephrology, 2004
The role of nephron sparing surgery in patients with a solitary kidney, bilateral kidney tumors or an impaired renal function has been widely accepted. Partial nephrectomy in patients with a normal contralateral kidney is still under discussion. We evaluated the effectiveness and safety of the nephronsparing surgery in the treatment of low stage renal ...

Nephron-Sparing Surgery for Renal Angiomyolipoma
European Urology, 2002Renal angiomyolipoma (RAML) is a benign tumor composed of varying amounts of mature adipose tissue, smooth muscle and thick-walled blood vessels. RAML tend to grow over time requiring active intervention due to serious associated complications, such as hemorrhage and pain. Although RAML is an ideal tumor for organ preservation, data concerning efficacy

Minimally invasive nephron-sparing surgery
Current Opinion in Urology, 2003Open partial nephrectomy, with its excellent 5- and 10-year oncologic follow-up data, is the gold standard against which all other nephron-sparing alternatives must be compared. The evolving minimally invasive nephron-sparing alternatives can essentially be divided into three categories: excision (laparoscopic partial nephrectomy), probe ablation (eg ...

Laparoscopic Nephron-sparing Surgery for Metanephric Adenoma
Surgical Laparoscopy, Endoscopy & Percutaneous Techniques, 2007A 47-year-old patient presented with hematuria of 3-month duration. Computed tomography revealed right lower polar exophytic mass. Laparoscopic nephron-sparing surgery was performed. The macroscopic examination of the mass showed encapsulated tumor with soft pultaceous material. Histologic examination of the mass was consistent with metanephric adenoma.
