The embryonic development of Metanephrops thomsoni from the East China Sea was studied. The developmental stages were divided into ten stages according to the morphological characteristics of the embryonic appendages. The shape of the eggs was nearly globular in the early stages and became gradually oval-shaped with increasing size after the appearance
