The structure and function of the egg-shell in the Nepidae (Hemiptera)
Journal of Insect Physiology, 1961Abstract A comparative account is given of the respiratory system of the egg-shells of sixteen species of Nepidae. These include half of the genera at present known in the family. The egg-shell has two (Ranatrinae) or four to twenty-six (Nepinae) respiratory horns arising from the anterior pole. Each horn consists of a central gas-containing meshwork

Effect of temperature on the growth and bioenergetics of laccotrephes griseus (hemiptera: nepidae)
Journal of Thermal Biology, 19911. 1. Patterns of energy balance in the life stages of Laccotrephes griseus were studied after exposure to different temperatures (20, 25, 30 and 35°C). 2. 2. Nymphal development of L. griseus was prolonged at 20°C compared to 25, 30 and 35°C. 3. 3.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Nepa hoffmanni (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Nepidae)
Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2015The complete mitochondrial genome (mt-genome) of Nepa hoffmanni has been reported in this study. This mitochondrial genome is 15 774 bp long, with an A + T content of 72.04%, containing the typical 37 genes (13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes, and two ribosomal RNA genes) and a control region.
