The thermodynamics of irreversible processes in continuous media predicts the existence of a magnetic Nernst effect that results from a magnetic analog to the Seebeck effect in a ferromagnet and magnetophoresis occurring in a paramagnetic electrode in contact with the ferromagnet.

Observation of the spin Nernst effect [PDF]
The observation of the spin Hall effect triggered intense research on pure spin current transport. With the spin Hall effect, the spin Seebeck effect, and the spin Peltier effect already observed, our picture of pure spin current transport is almost complete.

Quantum Nernst effect in a bismuth single crystal [PDF]
We report a theoretical calculation explaining the quantum Nernst effect observed experimentally in a bismuth single crystal. Generalizing the edge-current picture in two dimensions, we show that the peaks of the Nernst coefficient survive in three dimensions due to a van Hove singularity.

Design of anomalous Nernst thermoelectric generators for giant power output [PDF]
Topological magnets have shown great potential for transverse thermoelectric (TE) conversion with structural advantages, utilizing the anomalous Nernst effect.

Scattering-independent anomalous Nernst effect in ferromagnets [PDF]
Using the full-potential linearized augmented plane-wave method within the density functional theory, we compute all contributions to the scattering independent part of the thermoelectric conductivity tensor, namely the intrinsic contribution and the side-jump contribution.

Gapped nodal planes and large topological Nernst effect in the chiral lattice antiferromagnet CoNb3S6 [PDF]
The electronic structure of compensated antiferromagnets (CAF) creates large functional responses, reminiscent of ferromagnets and suitable for data storage and readout, despite (nearly) net-zero spontaneous magnetization. Many experimental signatures of

Large anomalous Nernst effect in a skyrmion crystal. [PDF]
AbstractThermoelectric properties of a model skyrmion crystal were theoretically investigated and it was found that its large anomalous Hall conductivity, corresponding to large Chern numbers induced by its peculiar spin structure leads to a large transverse thermoelectric voltage through the anomalous Nernst effect.
