Nerve conduction studies in natural rubella
Annals of Neurology, 1977AbstractNormal nerve conduction velocities and terminal latency values were obtained in 31 patients with natural rubella, many of whom complained of numbness, tingling, and other subjective sensory abnormalities. The observations suggest that true neuropathy may not occur in natural rubella.

Nerve conduction studies and sensibility testing in carpal tunnel syndrome.
Journal of Hand Surgery-American Volume, 1982This paper compares the results of detailed sensibility testing with nerve conduction studies done in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome. Forty-three patients with 74 symptomatic hands were examined.

The diagnosis of carpal-tunnel syndrome was made clinically in 124 cases (101 patients) and in each instance it was confirmed by nerve-conduction studies. Surgery was carried out with a uniform technique.

Nerve conduction study of human tetrodotoxication
Neurology, 1989We carried out serial nerve conduction studies in a patient with tetrodotoxication caused by ingesting pufferfish. Conduction velocities and amplitudes of muscle and sensory nerve action potentials were equally affected. Neither temporal dispersion nor focal conduction block occurred. The proximal (F wave) motor latencies were also prolonged.

Nerve conduction study in Sydenham's chorea
Movement Disorders, 2005AbstractSydenham's chorea (SC) is a late complication of group A β‐hemolytic streptococci infection presumably caused by an abnormal autoimmune reaction. Despite rare case reports of peripheral neuropathy associated with streptococcal infection, there is no investigation of peripheral nerve in SC.

Neurophysiology of Nerve Conduction Studies
2007The methodology for performing standard nerve conduction studies has been established by identifying the most helpful and consistent physiological data obtainable while being constrained by a variety of technical and practical limitations. Nerve stimulation occurs underneath the negatively charged anode of the applied stimulator and simultaneous ...

UNDERSTANDING NERVE CONDUCTION AND ELECTROMYOGRAPHIC STUDIES
Hand Clinics, 1993Electromyography has become an integral part of evaluation of disorders of the peripheral nervous system. This article reviews the principles, methodology, indications, and pitfalls of nerve conduction velocity and needle electromyographic studies. Normal patterns are described, and the significance of abnormal patterns is discussed.
