Nerve conduction study of ulnar nerve in volleyball players
Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports, 2005Ulnar neuropathy at the elbow is a common disorder seen in the throwing athlete. The purpose of our study was to determine whether asymptomatic physically active volleyball players and non‐actives demonstrate distinct differences in nerve conduction of the ulnar nerve at the elbow.

Nerve conduction study of human tetrodotoxication
Neurology, 1989We carried out serial nerve conduction studies in a patient with tetrodotoxication caused by ingesting pufferfish. Conduction velocities and amplitudes of muscle and sensory nerve action potentials were equally affected. Neither temporal dispersion nor focal conduction block occurred. The proximal (F wave) motor latencies were also prolonged.

Sensory nerve conduction study of the mental nerve [PDF]
We describe a technique for sensory nerve conduction study of the mental nerve. A monopolar recording needle is placed near the mandibular foramen using the same approach as that for routine inferior alveolar nerve block in dentistry, and a surface reference electrode is positioned over the ipsilateral mastoid process.

Nerve conduction and electromyography studies
Journal of Neurology, 2012Nerve conduction studies (NCS) and electromyography (EMG), often shortened to 'EMGs', are a useful adjunct to clinical examination of the peripheral nervous system and striated skeletal muscle. NCS provide an efficient and rapid method of quantifying nerve conduction velocity (CV) and the amplitude of both sensory nerve action potentials (SNAPs) and ...

Carpal tunnel decompression in patients with normal nerve conduction studies
Journal of Hand Surgery (European Volume), 2020Some patients present with typical clinical features of carpal tunnel syndrome despite normal nerve conduction studies. This study compared the preoperative and 1-year postoperative QuickDASH scores in patients with normal and abnormal nerve conduction ...

Phrenic nerve conduction studies
Muscle & Nerve, 1992AbstractTo refine in the technique of phrenic nerve conduction, we first studied electrode positioning and sources of chest wall artifact. Diaphragmatic compound motor action potentials (DCMAPs) were mapped at close intervals over 4 hemithoraces of two subjects, finding optimum recording sites which were then used to quantitate artifacts due to EKG ...

Nerve Conduction Studies of the Sural Nerve in Childhood
Journal of Child Neurology, 1988A study of the sural nerve was undertaken to determine latency to onset and peak, duration of action potential, amplitude, and conduction velocity in 33 children, 1 to 7 years old. Multiple tests per patient resulted in 140 measurements per variable.

Effects of age, gender, height, and weight on late responses and nerve conduction study parameters.
Acta neurologica Taiwanica, 2009BACKGROUND Different methods in performing nerve conduction studies (NCS) yield different results. The results of NCS can also be affected by factors such as gender, age, height, and weight. This study aimed (1) to survey the effects of such factors, (2)

Nerve conduction study of the three supraclavicular nerve branches
Muscle & Nerve, 2018ABSTRACTIntroduction: We describe a new nerve conduction study technique with reference values for the 3 branches of the supraclavicular nerve (SCN) in young healthy subjects and application of it in 2 patients. Methods: The recording electrode was placed on the posterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, 6–7 cm from the sternoclavicular joint.
