Gender, side to side and BMI differences in long thoracic nerve conduction velocity: A novel technique

open access: yesClinical Neurophysiology Practice, 2018
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to describe a new technique to record long thoracic nerve conduction velocity through the axilla as well as to assist in establishing normative values for latency and amplitude of the long thoracic nerve and to ...

Noninvasive peroneal sensory and motor nerve conduction recordings in the rabbit distal hindlimb: feasibility, variability and neuropathy measure. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
The peroneal nerve anatomy of the rabbit distal hindlimb is similar to humans, but reports of distal peroneal nerve conduction studies were not identified with a literature search.

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Electrochemical Evaluation of Compressed Selective Laser Melted AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg Alloys in Chloride Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The corrosion performance of AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg alloys produced through selective laser melting (SLM) was examined under compressive stress in a chloride environment. Electrochemical analyses, including open‐circuit potential (OCP), potentiodynamic polarization (CPP), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), were complemented by scanning ...

Innovative Processing of Compacted Waste Aluminum Alloy Powders via Controlled Remelting and Solidification

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...

Clinical and neurophysiological correlation in axonal and demyelinating polyneuropathy

open access: yesBulletin of the National Research Centre, 2020
Background The neurophysiological examination provides valuable pathophysiological information for the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy of patients with polyneuropathy (Fuglsang- Fredriksen A., Pugdahl K. Clin Neurophysilogy 122:440–455, 2011).

Prediction of Surface Topography Parameters in Direct Laser Interference Patterning of Stainless Steel Using Infrared Monitoring and Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents an infrared monitoring approach for direct laser interference patterning (DLIP) combined with a convolutional neural network (CNN). Thermal emission data captured during structuring are used to predict surface topography parameters.

Normative values and factors affecting saphenous nerve responses in a south Asian population: a cross-sectional neurophysiological study at a tertiary care hospital in Pakistan

open access: yesBMC Neurology
Background The saphenous nerve, a sensory branch of the femoral nerve, is not commonly included in routine lower extremity nerve conduction studies due to a high frequency of non-recordable responses in healthy subjects.

Effect of Hand Held Vibrating Tools on Nerve Conduction Study in Dental Residents

open access: yesJournal of Nepal Health Research Council, 2020
Background: Repetitive exposure to vibration has been shown to induce peripheral nerve dysfunction. Dentists are exposed to handheld vibrating tools in their daily clinical practice.

Zein‐Based Adhesives: Sustainable Extraction and Application in Bioadhesive Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Zein is extracted from corn gluten meal using a simple and scalable process with high yield (~90%). The resulting protein is applied in bioadhesives modified with Ca2+ and Fe3+ ions, exhibiting substrate‐dependent adhesion. The findings demonstrate competitive bonding performance and highlight the role of ionic interactions in tuning adhesion ...
