Dual Physiological Barriers Bypassed by a Silk‐Based Supramolecular Protein Delivery Platform for Neuroinflammation Mitigation in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A supramolecular nanocomplex based on phenolic‐modified silk sericin is developed to deliver antioxidant enzymes across the blood–brain barrier and escape lysosomal degradation. This dual‐barrier‐crossing system reduces neuroinflammation and improves cognitive performance in Alzheimer's disease mouse model, offering a promising strategy for protein ...

Microstructure Optimization of Na3SbS4/Na3Zr2Si2PO12 Composite Solid Electrolytes for Improving Cycling Stability in All‐Solid‐State Sodium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This research demonstrates that incorporating 10 wt.% NASICON‐type Na3Zr2Si2PO12 into Na3SbS4 sulfide electrolytes mitigates interfacial instability and structural defects. The resulting composite enhances ionic conductivity to 3.97 * 10−4 S cm−1 and reduces activation energy.

Paternal Caffeine Exposure Programs Offspring Stress Vulnerability via Sperm Dlk1‐Dio3 Imprinting‐Directed Remodeling of a Novel Neural Circuit

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study elucidates that paternal preconception stress can drive offspring hyperresponsivity of the stress system via hypomethylation of a specific DNA region in sperm. This key link is confirmed in a cohort of prospective fathers: the epigenetic alteration is associated with elevated stress hormone levels.

Nerve Fiber Analysis of the Facial Nerve

Annals of Otology, Rhinology & Laryngology, 1989
Nerve fiber analyses were conducted on the human facial nerve with use of a new staining method (Luxol-PAS-hematoxylin stain; discriminative staining method) that permits simultaneous observation of the axon and surrounding myelin sheath. The following combination of equipment was employed in the study: An image-analyzing digitizer,

The terminal of the sympathetic nerve fibers in the facial nerve

Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 2004
The terminal of the sympathetic nerve fibers of the rat facial nerve in the temporal bone region was investigated. We used tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) and the synaptophysin antibody as markers of the sympathetic nerve fiber and the membrane of the synaptic vesicle, respectively.

Nerve fiber analysis on the morphology of the lingual nerve

Anatomical Science International, 2014
The route of fine fascicles of nerve fibers in the lingual nerve was clarified. Contemporary anatomy textbooks describe the lingual nerve as supplying sensory innervation to the mucous membrane of the presulcal part of the tongue, the floor and side wall of the mouth, and the mandibular gums.

Afferent nerve fibers and acupuncture

Autonomic Neuroscience, 2010
Acupuncture has been used for analgesia, for treating visceral function disorders and for improving motor functions. It is well established that stimulation of the skin and muscles, either electrically or with noxious or non-noxious stimuli, induces a variety of somato-motor and autonomic responses.

Nerve Fibers

1995
Abstract The nerve fiber is simply a continuation of the neuron’s axon or functional process. Thus, it is not a distinct component of nervous tissue, and would have been considered along with the neuron if a separate description were not justified by special features displayed on the way to its terminal arborizations.

Myelinated Retinal Nerve Fibers

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1981
In a series of 3,968 consecutive autopsies, myelinated nerve fibers of the retina were presented in 39 (0.98%) cases and bilateral in three (7.7%) affected cases; thus, 42 (0.54%) of the 7,936 eyes examined were affected. Myelinated nerve fiber lesions appeared as white or gray-white striated patches corresponding in shape to the distribution of ...
