The relationship between cellular protein content and selenium accumulation in freshwater microalgae
Abstract Variability in the bioconcentration of selenium (Se) by primary producers at the base of the food web results in uncertainty in predictions of bioaccumulation and ecological risk to higher trophic level organisms. Water chemistry, speciation of Se, and periphyton community composition have all been suggested as factors that contribute to ...

Global Oil and Gas Stocks: Anomalies, Systematic Risks and Mispricing
ABSTRACT We analyse anomaly and factor risk premia in the global oil and gas (OG) sector, which plays a central role in the global economy through its importance for energy supply, industrial production, and capital markets. Using firm‐level and portfolio data, we examine whether cross‐sectional return patterns reflect systematic risk compensation or ...

Warm‐wet transition restructures arid lake microbiomes and functional potential
This study summarizes how a long‐term warm‐dry to warm‐wet transition restructures microbiomes and functional potential in Lake Bosten, an arid lake in northwestern China. Warm‐wet hydroclimatic change increased water level and hydrological connectivity, while decreasing salinity and total nitrogen.

From ecological principles to precision engineering of plant microbiomes for sustainable agriculture. The plant holobiont integrates diverse microbial niches (including rhizosphere, endosphere, phyllosphere, seed, and aerial‐root mucilagesphere), host genetics (namely M genes), and host metabolites. Furthermore, molecular dialogues, including rhizobial

Micro‐ and nano‐plastics (MNPs) can enter the human body through inhalation, ingestion, contact with consumer products, and iatrogenic routes. The clinical relevance of MNP exposure should be interpreted at three levels: barrier interaction, cellular stress, and system‐level disruption, with key mechanisms including oxidative stress, mitochondrial ...
