Net Primary Productivity of Terrestrial Communities: Prediction from Climatological Data
The American Naturalist, 1968Actual evapotranspiration (AE) is shown to be a highly significant predictor of the net annual above-ground productivity in mature terrestrial plant communities. Communities included ranged from deserts and tundra to tropical forests. It is hypothesized that the relationship of AE to productivity is due to the fact that AE measures the simultaneous ...

Net community production on the middle shelf of the eastern Bering Sea
Deep Sea Research Part II: Topical Studies in Oceanography, 2012Abstract To estimate temporal changes of nutrients and calculate the seasonal net community production (NCP) on the eastern shelf of the Bering Sea, hydrographic sampling along the 70-m isobath of the middle shelf was conducted in spring (2007–2009), summer (2008–2009), and fall (2007). These were cold years, with sea ice covering much of the eastern

Survey of biomass and net production of higher plant communities in fishponds
Folia Geobotanica et Phytotaxonomica, 1981After a brief account of both past and present fishpond management and of its impact on the fishpond vegetation of higher plants, a survey is given of the biomass and total net production in various types of communities constituting this vegetation. Relatively stable and unstable communities are distinguished and further differentiated by the dominant ...

Effective product assortment communication: overcoming the "product variety paradox" on the net [PDF]
When a firm offers customized products, variants and options may end up confusing the customer, instead of increasing sales. Recent developments in Information and Communication Technology made available a class of software products, often termed as "product configurators", which appears to offer new solutions to support the sale of customized products.

Net Productivity and Burning Responses of Native Eastern North Dakota Prairie Communities
American Midland Naturalist, 1970Net primary herbage production was measured in three upland and three lowland prairie community types in eastern North Dakota. Peak herbage weights (harvest method) in 1965 ranged from 109 to 353 g/m2 in the lowland types, and from 223 to 348 g/m2 in the upland community types.

Net Community Production and Inorganic Carbon Cycling in the Irminger Sea
The subpolar North Atlantic plays an outsized role in the atmosphere-to-ocean carbon sink. The central Irminger Sea is home to well-documented deep winter convection and high phytoplankton production, which drive strong seasonal and interannual variability in regional carbon cycling.Meg F Yoder +2 more

Net Community Production and Inorganic Carbon Cycling in the Central Irminger Sea
Journal of Geophysical Research: OceansAbstractThe subpolar North Atlantic plays an outsized role in the atmosphere‐to‐ocean carbon sink. The central Irminger Sea is home to well‐documented deep winter convection and high phytoplankton production, which drive strong seasonal and interannual variability in regional carbon cycling.

How does climate change impact aquatic net community production? - A novel mesocosm
Understanding the biological processes of natural ecosystems is integral to predict their responses to anthropogenic climate change and increasingly extreme climate events. Our ability to quantify net primary production (NPP) is key to better understand community food web structure and carbon sequestration.Desiree Burckin, Luca Telesca
