Valuing ecosystem services: A shadow price for net primary production

Ecological Economics, 2007
Abstract We analyze the contribution of ecosystem services to GDP and use this contribution to calculate an empirical price for ecosystem services. Net primary production is used as a proxy for ecosystem services and, along with capital and labor, is used to estimate a Cobb Douglas production function from an international panel.

Phosphorus limitation of net production in a confined aquatic ecosystem

Nature, 1984
The sediment composition of confined aquatic ecosystems with little terrigenous input reflects net ecosystem production. Here we present nutrient budgets for one such system, Shark Bay in Western Australia, which suggest that net ecosystem production is limited by the oceanographic delivery of P, while the system meets its N requirements by nitrogen ...

Petri Net-Based Affective-Cognitive Modeling for Product Ecosystem Design

Volume 9: 23rd International Conference on Design Theory and Methodology; 16th Design for Manufacturing and the Life Cycle Conference, 2011
Product ecosystem design that emphasizes user experience (UX) with both users’ affective and cognitive aspects lends itself to be of primary importance to value-added user satisfaction. In a product ecosystem, there are human users, multiple products, and the ambience. Thus it involves complex human-product-ambience interactions, which contribute to UX
