Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Sustainable Net Metering Model for Diversified India

open access: yesEnergy Procedia, 2016
AbstractWith the increase in deployment of solar PV in India, a feasible net metering policy is need of the hour. In this paper, an analysis of data has been carried out for studying the feasibility of net metering in India. It is found that simple net metering policy is unable to accommodate various categories of consumers. A new model is proposed for

Technical Overview of the Net Metering in Lebanon [PDF]

open access: yesTrends in Renewable Energy, 2020
In order to realize the best practices to allow the individuals participate in renewable energy production, a collection of legislation was ratified, and a set of decisions was introduced to encourage the prosumer concept. This notion, which is called Net Metering (NEM), is a billing mechanism that credits PV solar system owners for the energy injected

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Solar Risk: How Energy Storage Can Preserve Solar Savings in California Affordable Housing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Recently, utilities and regulators in California have proposed policy changes and new electricity rate structures that could drastically erode the value of stand-alone solar in California. Those changes, through modifications to net metering, time-of-use

Why human connection is the true metric of research success

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...
