Power-Law Distributions in a Two-sided Market and Net Neutrality

open access: yes, 2016
"Net neutrality" often refers to the policy dictating that an Internet service provider (ISP) cannot charge content providers (CPs) for delivering their content to consumers. Many past quantitative models designed to determine whether net neutrality is a

Net Neutrality and Investment Incentives [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2008
This article analyzes the effects of net neutrality regulation on investment incentives for Internet service providers (ISPs) and content providers (CPs), and their implications for social welfare. Concerning the ISPs’ investment incentives, we find that capacity expansion decreases the sale price of the priority right under the discriminatory regime ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Net neutrality and inflation of traffic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Under strict net neutrality Internet service providers (ISPs) are required to carry data without any differentiation and at no cost to the content provider.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Technology Roadmap for Achieving Carbon Neutrality of Thai Industrial Estate: The Case of Map Ta Put Area

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2023
Climate change is the forefront of global agenda in recent years with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality or net zero emission. Consequently, Thailand has expressed her intention, with strong collaboration from all economic sectors, to achieve Carbon

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Net Neutrality| From Net Neutrality to Net Equality

open access: yesInternational Journal of Communication, 2016
I argue that the conceptual foundations for net neutrality assume a race neutrality that obfuscates the daily experiences of racial discrimination and the institutional dynamics of structural racism.

Agroforestry for Carbon Neutrality: An Effective Pathway to Net Zero

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Biology & Biotechnology
Agroforestry is a promising strategy to achieve carbon neutrality and net zero emission, aiming towards the balance between greenhouse gas emissions and equal amount of carbon removal through sequestration Among several methods of carbon sequestration ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
