Linewidth of the electromagnetic radiation from Josephson junctions near cavity resonances
The powerful terahertz emission from intrinsic Josephson junctions in high-Tc cuprate superconductors has been detected recently. The synchronization of different junctions is enhanced by excitation of the geometrical cavity resonance.

Photon helicity driven electric currents in graphene
We report on the observation of photon helicity driven currents in graphene. The directed net electric current is generated in single layer graphene by circularly polarized terahertz laser radiation at normal as well as at oblique incidence and changes ...

Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.

Powder metal processing provides scalable advantages in nanoporous (np) metal development. Mechanical alloying is used to produce unique precursors for hybrid nanopore formation by oxide reduction and dealloying. As demonstrated in np Ag, this approach improves process efficiency while promoting smaller ligaments and larger pores, both of which are ...

The role of global cloud climatologies in validating numerical models [PDF]
The net upward longwave surface radiation is exceedingly difficult to measure from space. A hybrid method using General Circulation Model (GCM) simulations and satellite data from the Earth Radiation Budget Experiment (ERBE) and the International ...

On the Emissivity and Absorptivity of Plastic Shading Nets under Natural Conditions
It is impossible to directly measure the thermal radiative properties of shading nets because of the net's perforated structure and the difficulty to distinguish the transmitted, reflected, and emitted radiation on the net surface. In addition, Kirchhoff'

GLASS Daytime All-Wave Net Radiation Product: Algorithm Development and Preliminary Validation
Mapping surface all-wave net radiation (Rn) is critically needed for various applications. Several existing Rn products from numerical models and satellite observations have coarse spatial resolutions and their accuracies may not meet the requirements of
