Estimation of Surface Net Radiation from Solar Shortwave Radiation Measurements
IGARSS 2008 - 2008 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2008This study develops a method to estimate surface daytime net radiation (Rn) from solar shortwave radiation measurements with help of the conventional meteorological observations and vegetation indices from satellite. Data collected at twenty-two sites in the U.S.

Estimating the net-radiation flux
Agricultural Meteorology, 1968A major influence controlling the water loss from irrigated crops is the net-radiation intensity Qn, but measurements of this are not normally available, and so attempts are often made to deduce it from other climatic data, such as the solar-radiation.

Solar radiation, net radiation and temperature in Argonne, Chicago
Solar Energy, 1973Abstract Variations in the annual, seasonal and diurnal patterns of temperature and global and net radiation have been presented. Annual, seasonal and diurnal relationships between global and net radiation and between temperature and radiation have also been determined.

Solar and net radiation in Peninsular Malaysia
Journal of Climatology, 1983AbstractLinear regression equations relating the global solar radiation and sunshine duration are derived for a total of 14 stations in Peninsular Malaysia. Mean monthly global solar radiation values for other stations which have only sunshine data are estimated using these regression equations.

SOLAR RADIATION TRANSMISSION THROUGH PLASTIC SHADING NETS
Acta Horticulturae, 2012Plastic shading nets are being used extensively in hot and sunny regions to protect plants from intense solar radiation. However, the choice of net to fulfill specific shading requirements often depends on empirical or economic criteria, not on scientific considerations because parameters used to characterize the different types of nets is not ...

Net radiation in a riparian mesquite community
Water Resources Research, 1969Net radiation patterns for a riparian mesquite community are similar to net radiation patterns obtained for a humid forest. The net radiation peak of the open area was 61% of the net radiation peak above the canopy. The net radiation within a mesquite canopy peaked 9% higher but had a lower daily total value than the radiation above the canopy.

The calculation of the net radiation flux
Archiv für Meteorologie, Geophysik und Bioklimatologie Serie B, 1980A comparison between two global solar radiation- and two net longwave radiation flux formulas applied to the calculation of the net radiation flux was made. The differences between the two global solar radiation formulas were fairly small but the ratio of the two net longwave radiation formulas varied from approximately 1.21 under cloudless conditions ...

A Comparison of Solar Radiation and Net Radiation 1, 2
Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, 1956Daily values of solar and net radiation at Ames, Iowa were compared for the period, late June through November, 1954. It was found that by dividing the data into two groups, clear days and cloudy days, regression lines could be computed which fitted the data very well.

Net Radiation Estimated from Standard Meteorological Data
1981The turbulent state of the Planetary Boundary Layer (PBL) is of importance in many fields related to mankind, for example, weather forecasting, dispersion of gases and particulate matter in the atmosphere and wind power prospecting.
